Wsm-ram reacted to Steve How Hard? in The Administration Thread
Part of me expected that once CK gained preferred bidder status and got to see a more in depth look at the state the club was in that he would have run a mile.
The fact he's still around is a massive positive to me. Tomorrow can't come soon enough now. We all deserve a conclusion to this nightmare. We've suffered enough.

anyone who thinks MA (or anyone else for that matter) can submit a plan to the EFL that doesn't pay off debts BUT does allow a spending spree needs to lay down the crack-pipe and give their head a wobble.
The EFL would never allow such a snide business plan, and if the club deviates from the agreed business plan, further point deductions and umbongos are inflicted.
Stop pining for some ridiculous notion that someone is gonna spend money above and beyond the sensible, cos it ain't happening.

So the big day has arrived... The last working day before the preferred bidder's period of exclusivity expires; deadline day, make or break; decision day; the climax of months of stress.
My bet is we will hear absolutely nothing.

Yeah right. Who brought the charge against Derby then 4 years after signing off on the accounts and two years after signing off on the stadium sale? Who pursued the matter despite much of the allegations being thrown out and tried to get us relegated when at most the only sanction should have been a modest fine? Who indulged the Boro claim which could have bankrupted the club? Who has been briefing against us with multiple misleading statements and leaks to the press over the last two and a half years? Two and a half years during which one man has presided over the EFL the spiteful Parry. And two and half years of a continuing vendetta that has made it almost impossible to sell the club.

Wsm-ram reacted to PistoldPete in The Administration Thread
The stadium has never been a big hurdle .. it has only become an issue now because of the need to get a quick sale. The council may not be able to do due diligence in time. The biggest hurdle all along has been the EFL. And Parry is very keen of course to suggest otherwise. What a contemptible man.

Wsm-ram reacted to Bris Vegas in Wayne Rooney set to walk (Newspaper gossip)
I think I saw it in The Star paper edition.
We probably need to get used to this over the coming weeks.
I never agreed with his arrival and the way he took over from Phillip Cocu. But I hope he doesn’t leave as he has been magnificent for Derby over the past 9 months.

Because he only cares about one thing - money. If he can get Derby for a rock-bottom price, he'll aim to see a profit over the next 5-10 years regardless of the club or its fans. Newcastle fans hated him, the ground needs a complete overhaul, their training facilities were left to fall into ruin, and now need £millions to bring them up to standard, but he left with a profit of some £165m following 14 years of ownership.
If he's the only one to save us, I'll take it, just so we have a club, but he'll have no allegiance to the club or its fans, just his bank balance. I have a suspicion he's already done a behind closed doors deal with Mel, who seems to have decided he wants nothing to do with CK, regardless of the outcome. For all we know, he's agreed with MA to hold out such the Ashley "saves the day" at the last minute, whilst buying the stadium off Mel for his asking price.

I've not really seen anyone mention this yet but what the bloody hell have the administrators been doing throughout this process?
There seems to have been 2 major issues throughout this process and they seem to have ignored both of them.
Why on earth would you identify someone as the preferred bidder without having an agreement for the most important part of the transaction?
From the outside they've only really done one thing at any great speed during the whole process, and that was letting the EFL bend us over.

Poor little Wycombe won 2-0 in the 1st leg of the play offs last night. I will never forget how Couhig backed Gibson to try and hold up our takeover. I hope MK Dons can turn it round in the 2nd leg.?

So for the past few days the owner-elect, CK, has been sounding increasingly confident that "the deal is nearly done".
He was coming over for the EFL rubber stamping but then said he was apparently not needed at a "behind closed doors meeting".
Next we hear from Percy that the EFL still have concerns that need to be addressed.
We have suspected for a while that Percy is being leaked information from the EFL but it now appears, given CK's earlier confidence, that Percy is getting the information even before CK hears it. If that really is the case, then it is beyond appalling.
And, if they need things to be addressed, why not invite him to their goddam meeting?? ?
Sheesh. If the EFL scupper this deal, I really hope CK blows the lid of that corrupt, incompetent organization.
Not fit for purpose.

Wsm-ram reacted to Ted McMinn Football Genius in Most potential
Erin Cashin for me, has the stature and presence to lead the team both by example and vocally.
I also believe not only will he be a superb centre half, I feel he also has the potential to be a holding midfielder in time.
Ive not witnessed a young defender like him in a very long time, he settled in very quickly alongside Curtis. Just looks like he belongs! ??

It appears we’re down to the wire and hopefully everything will go through soon, so at least we will have a club to get behind next season.
No doubt there will be a number of negative people making bitter spurious comments - I just hope that we can all remain positive, get behind the club, the clubs new owner and just enjoy football again.
Personally I’m really looking forward to next season and watching the club rebuild - could be some very exciting times ahead !! ??

It's not just *at* the game though. You've got people using pubs/restaurants before/after games, fans who live far away maybe staying in hotels on match days, people spending money in Derby shops rather than local ones because there already here for the game. You've got all the community outreach stuff, employing people to go to schools etc. You've got pubs showing games when Derby are on TV, shops selling Derby merchandise and so on. The club benefits the local area in a million different ways.

My take on it all, CK is the man to take us forward, CK will give Gary Cook the money to build a team to help rebuild us, that excites me.
My major concern, CK seems quite adamant that the main hurdle is the stadium.
For saying he starts writing cheques from Saturday I find it unbelievable that he isn't being kept abreast of the progress on that front. No suggestions from him that progress is being made, positive talks had etc.
I'm just worried that we are getting excited that CK is about to save us and we will be reading a statement on Friday from CKs team about not completing a deal due to the stadium.
Please let this week be a good one.

Wsm-ram reacted to SamUltraRam in Highlight of the Season
Despite what has ultimately been a disastrous season, we all know that there have been many highlights
There are obvious ones, but for me
the 1st home win of the season against Stoke City back in September. Mel had just put us into administration & the fans who were hurting, took us to a new level with our support - we have maintained those levels of support ever since Reading away - 2-0 down & 5 minutes to go & my mate wanted to leave so we could beat the traffic. No, I said, we'll score 3 goals - nearly right So what's your highlight of the season ? Whether it be a moment, a whole match, a player or something more general

Well our fans were great once again every man women and child was firmly behind our team but just a shame odd few had to go to far by chucking flares about a couple fans went onto the pitch but apart from that everyone well behaved.
But our players gave our there all and if we can keep this team togather as much as we can I do feel league better be scared of mighty derby county.
