Premier ram reacted to Reggie Greenwood in Leeds United Premier League Adventures
The Covid break helped them enormously last season. Gave them a big rest which avoided the fatigue of the previous season

Bielsa may be an analytics nerd but he's also tactically extremely rigid and not massively sophisticated. Unlocking Bielsa ball is simply breaking their press at which point their wingbacks are too far up the pitch meaning oceans of space exists both behind and in front of them and matching their work rate i.e. following their runners. In the championship teams found this harder to do because of concentration levels dropping off in lesser players, less technically able players being able to break out of their aggressive press and fatigue setting in more quickly due to playing more games. Even in our division though their form fell off the edge of the cliff around February as they started to tire making it much easier to match their intensity and break through their press. In the premiership good quality teams such as Leicester etc. are already taking them to the cleaners on an increasingly regular basis.
His inability to cope with a basic formation change in our second leg should have been the moment everyone realised this is a guy who just cannot adapt which is one of the reasons why he's never won anything. It is also why this guy is at Leeds United and not Barcelona. He's not a fraud as his approach to analytics and implementation of footballing philosophy is pretty unique from what I can gather but he's not god and not one of the best managers in the world despite what others claim.
He won't relegate Leeds as they'll pick up enough points against good teams having an 'off day' and are just as good as 7/8 other teams in the division. But finishing 14th/15th (where they'll likely end up) isn't taking the premier league by storm like they all imagined they would. My guess would be he'll leave early next season after a string of poor results due to burnout in the core of the squad starts to hit.

Great stuff, @Premier ram! Hope you enjoy the book mate.
If anyone else gets a copy for Christmas, would love to get your feedback on it! I think the delivery deadline for the book on Amazon has now passed, and I think the club have sold out online, but I reckon there are still a few copies in store and in a few book shops around Derby. There's my marketing spiel, I am not a master of it

Ha, if he keeps this up there will be a CKR v Martin thread at some point on here!
Martin definitely looks the more elegant footballer whilst CKR is more of a streetfighter but the technical ability & leadership in that front role is what they both have in common. Oh & they were both unheralded free transfers on arrival ?

On commentary last night Owen said that CKR had become a bit of a cult figure around the club and with fans.
I wouldn’t disagree but it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that our cult figure will come and go without any (many) of us seeing him play in the flesh. He deserves at least one standing ovation from a full Pride Park.

Seeing Leeds 3-0 down after 20 minutes...
Remembering they are playing United...
Why can’t they both lose?

The well known burn out of his teams is yet to take effect, lockdown saved them from it last season, but won't this.

Lockdown didn't do many favours but that sure was one.

Since beating Sheffield by a single goal, Leeds have secured only 8 points from a possible 27. It would appear their is a God after all and he's not called Bielsa. How long before Moody Marcelo grabs his bucket and runs for the hills I wonder?

My friend, a Blades fan, reckons it's the injured centre half, Jack O'Connell, that's the main problem.
That's also meaning Ramsdale is having more to do than Henderson - their save percentages are quite close.

I'm enjoying Ole's fine job at Man U.
Long way before he can make them truely Arsenal levels of mediocer, but I think he could do it.
