Pearl Ram reacted to richinspain in The Old Guard
Judging by the first photo, I'd say that @loweman2 was stalking him whilst he was on his holidays, and just happened to have the shirt for him to sign in the car ?

For me, the programme went downhill when they got rid of the old panel. I acknowledge they weren’t to everyone’s liking but I liked the camaraderie between them. They made the programme entertaining for me.
If I have the programme on it’s without sound now until a report involving us comes on. Clinton Morrison’s accent boils my you-know-what and Sue Smith’s is like nails down a blackboard.
I wonder if viewing figures have dropped and that’s been a factor in his decision. ?

I read about this fairly recently. Apparently a Jevovah Witness knocked on his door one day & converted him as a 23 year old top flight footballer...must be why they still bother...
Here's the story from Wolves' perspective;

Well done on your perseverance @loweman2. ? He looks a nice older man in that photograph, you’d never think he was a very tough cookie looking at him, certainly not one to take liberties with.
You’ll have to tell us how you got him to change mind after his initial reluctance to your requests sometime.

Blame game for me one of the main culprits is Sam Rush, he was the best paid CEO in the championship, so should have guided the club into a stable and financialy sound club, but instead correct me if i am wrong, he had a 25% interest in a players agency where the club signed 8 or more players through that agency for £4 million plus each on staggering contracts 4 or 5 years on mickey mouse wages for their limited ability, did the club make any money on those players?
Sadly Mel at the start put his trust in alleged football advicers, for me he made a error with his advicers, no excuse for how he has left the club, lets hope a final twist he donates the ground to the new owners.
Sam Rush i for one do not want him near our club again.

For me, the EFL became the bad guys when they used the words "disappointed" and "regrettable" when one of their attempts to punish us failed. Its a governing body and should be ran as such, the use of such language turned it into a witch hunt imo.
None of that takes any blame from Mel, it just makes the EFL look like they are not bothered about the actual rules and whether we have broken them, but rather they want to punish us because we appear to have broken the rules and are under pressure from powerful lobbying from outside their organisation.
Plus I'm biased. ???

Pearl Ram got a reaction from Alph in To blame Derby fans for DCFC problems is nonsensical
“There weren’t too many fans moaning about how much we were spending in the Clement and Pearson eras” ?
Maybe that’s because they were under the impression the club was being run responsibly and any investment was budgeted for.
And by the way, can anyone tell me if Pearce is still taking a wage from the club ?

Has there been any suggestion he was terminated? I’d have though he is indispensable as the only person who knows where the bodies are buried

Come on Kath, that line doesn’t wash. People saw Morris as a competent and responsible businessman. As far as I’m concerned, if we were spending 8, 10, 12 million quid it was, I believed, budgeted for. There was a business plan.
Yeah, I thought it was great and I was all “ good old boy Mel” but I never thought for a second Morris would turn out to be to Derby County what Sarah Millican is to comedy.

You know he could have done the sensible option of investing a little more than GSE and not so much that we'd be in danger of administration.... I mean I'm not a billionaire or a businessman so that might be an absolutely wild suggestion.

Do you think fans lapping it up assumed Mel was spending money that he couldn't really afford to spend and would lead to this? I personally assumed that Mel had spent money on the basis that it could be sustained at a reasonable level for the long term and this was not a boom or bust project as it in fact turned out to be. Now, unless you think fans were aware of the danger Mel was putting us into at that time and were aware of the ffp manipulations then what you're saying counts for nought in my book.

I think if people aren't made clearly aware of what is going on then you can't really dole out the 'you weren't complaining then' card. It's akin to those who say 'you shouldn't have voted them in' when a government reneges on a manifesto commitment or does something totally unexpected and unmentioned in a manifesto. You may say it's naïve to trust the owner to not take risks that could end with the club battling for its life and end up being deducted points but I'd suggest it's a starting point most fans factor in when discussing issues such as transfers.
