richinspain got a reaction from LeedsRam1999 in Ravel Morrison - signed 1 year deal
Although I agree with the sentiment, we are in this mess STILL because the EFL have dragged our case out for so long that we haven't been able to operate normally for several seasons now. Yes, we brought things on our selves for our methodology but with original agreement from them. We have been under some sort of embargo for years. We have been unable to sign even free agents early in transfer windows because of this. We are reduced to signing players like CKR and Ravel Morrison because we aren't allowed to compete for others. Up until now we have been given "regrettably" a £100k slap on the wrist. If, and it's a big if, we fall within FFP for all seasons under review we will have been under embargo without reason for all those years.
Yes, I know that we have embargoes in place for not paying transfer instalments and HMRC, but there will be many clubs with cash flow problems under current conditions. Maybe if we had been allowed to operate normally for all these seasons we would have been promoted and could have payed off everybody with money to spare. We have suffered greatly because of the EFL. Mitigating circumstances will not be considered by the EFL if we do fail FFP, they'll hit us as hard as they can when they have already been hitting us for several seasons.
Any way, Ravel Morrison. I've heard his name before, so he's a yes from me.

So what do you suggest? not get bodies in and just give up? miraculously fix all of our EFL problems, get the takeover done, find someone to give us £50m for Knight and blow the lot on a new team of competitive Championship players?
We are where we are (a poorer squad than the one that only just avoided relegation last year, a transfer embargo, the same owner so no chance of the EFL letting up on their vindictive campaign, etc, etc....). Unless a miracle occurs (the takeover goes through, the EFL give us a clean bill of health and Wazza manages to bring in 5-6 quality signings for little money and on minimum wages) then it will be a long hard season of scrapping.....

As there were no comments on the tweet about some obscure Hampshire uprising in the 14th century, it's quite understandable ?

Oh now you're just teasing......
Everyone knows that there weren't any obscure Hampshire uprisings in the 14th century.
Of course, a number of Winchester citizens rose up in the Great Peasants Revolt of 1381 (the same one as wat Tyler) but as that was such an obvious, trite, facile example I feel almost embarrassed in raising it......

I would assume that they were referring to first day of training at the camp, but they could have worded it better ?

What do you call what they've been doing up to this point as the pictures seem to have involved balls, bibs, cones and practising stuff...
Is that like, pre - training?
