Any player aged under 21 as of Jan 1st prior to the season starting (ie born in 2001 or later for last season). I thought it was only academy graduates, but it seems to include signigs too (such as Rooney).
For the current season, Sibley and Cashin are no logner excluded from the SCMP calculation, but Thompson and Rooney still are.

The academy costs around £4m a year at the moment.

So you're saying then that in this £4m a year the wages of all players 21 or under are included? Obviously that means that the average wage of the first team squad is higher, but it really does make more sense to keep the category one status.

That £7.3m didn't include: Bielik and all other players out on loan; Knight, Sibley, Cashin and Thompson as they fall into the U21 academy system category; potentially Rooney and Oduroh for the same reason; potentially Loach due to being a part-time coach.

So Knight, Sibley etc don't count as first team players because they came through the academy system? In which case the cost of running the academy is peanuts if you take their wages out of that running cost. Or am I missing something?

Quote  from the minutes  "Atmosphere - Many supporters leave the ground early and watch the TVs in the concourses. Could these be turned off by at least the 90th minute with a plea from the club to stay in the ground and get behind the players?"

Typical Ramstrust busy-bodying. Let fans make their own decision - there are some very good reasons why fans may choose to go to the Concourse before the final whistle and view the TVs.

Can someone please explain this to me. "Fans" leave their seats before the final whistle to go and stand in the concourse to watch the final minutes on the TV? I fully understand people who actually leave the ground to avoid the rush, catch trains etc, but to just watch on a tiny TV screen when a few feet away you can watch live? Now that's just plain weird.

£30m overspend WITH the Johnson sale included.

It means selling someone like Gibbs-White for at least £50m, Elanga for £45m, or Awoniyi for £40m (or several players above book value).

I think they'll struggle to sell many players at a profit tbh

Surely you can add another nought to those prices if they are prepared to move to Greece?

I just don't care anymore. I don't care who's cheating or who isn't, to what extent they're cheating, or whether the rules are fair. I didn't develop an interest in football because I liked accounting and bureaucracy. Modern football is s***. Fans celebrating accounting tricks and balance sheets, whether in favour of or detrimental to their clubs, is pretty pathetic.

I've literally lost all interest in football since our problems with the EFL started. Thank God I support a team that plays Warneball 🥷

Not sure where to put this as we haven't got a heritage thread, but it looks like we have been gifted the Watney Cup by Bristol Rovers.

Maybe it's just our turn to look after it for a few years?

The time line doesn't sound right if Wikipedia is to be believed.

Saw this on the BBC news last night - this woman and another who tried to set fire to the ballot box. Russian authorities apparently described them as 'scum'....

To be fair, if it happened in Britain they would probably be called the same. I would hope however that the ones in Britain would only receive a fine or short jail sentence. I don't think that the Russians will be appearing in public very soon. Unless they're peering over a balcony of course when they somehow slip and fall 13 floors.

Has he signed a contract extension yet? If not, why not?

I liked Gayle as a signing and have always liked him as a player. At this level I knew he'd be a cut above tbh. We should give him a 1 year extension as he could probably still muster between 10-12 goals in the championship if he played regularly.

I imagine that he would probably prefer to wait until the end of the season to see what league we are in, unless he's fallen in love with us already of course

Plenty of pedigree, so was really looking forward to Masters of the Air, but what a steaming pile this show really is. Playing fast and loose with historical facts and the truth in general, the show goes out of its way to portray the English pilots as insipid toffs saved only by their vastly superior American counterparts in their vastly superior planes, I'm left staggered by the arrogance and stupidity of its makers. Have none of the show's makers heard of the Battle of Britain?

Yes, I was really looking forward to this. The first two episodes (released at the same time) set the tone, but I hoped that the anti-Brit angle would change. It did, it got worse. All very nice to look at, but not a patch on the previous series of the same ilk by the same producers.

Just bumped into him in a Bristol sandwich shop that does the biggest sandwiches you’ve ever seen.

    No wonder he’s slow 😊

Also, no one else seemed to recognise him 😩

So he's turning into more of a pantry rather than a wardrobe in his footballing twilight years?
