Boro fan here, donning hard hat and coming in peace.
Been an occasional stalker on this board (ever since all the unpleasantness!) but felt compelled to register today after seeing this sad news.
B4 was a poster I saw popping up on almost every thread that appeared on here and his passion for his football team was so clear with every word he typed. Fans with this level of devotion are few and far between and should be treasured by clubs and other fans alike. I'm sure he will leave a huge hole behind for everyone who knew him. Sending condolences to all friends, family and fellow DCFC supporters for your loss.
All the best, Steve (not that one!)

We were here so it wasn't that difficult. After the fourth official spoke to him Warne was mostly sat in the dugout with Barker doing the coaching.

Bring on NML in the second half when their players are getting tired.

Absolutely gutted to hear this news, B4 has been here from when I first joined the forum, his positivity and rally calls for matchdays will be sorely missed....as will his general comments on all things Derby County related, be it pink shirts, the efl, gibshite at boro, or advive on getting to watch the Rams despite a railstrike and its your wedding day, RIP B4, I'm gonna be positive and say we are going up this year, and it will be for you 🐏🐏🐏

Yep, it’s a no-win situation for us. Even having to play them will be bad enough, but if we lost it would be the most embarrassing point in the rivalry.
I’d rather have gone out in the groups if it turns out we have to play them next. Even if we pump them 5-0, there’s zero bragging rights.

Until the last week it has been a long time since I had been at a Derby Match. My Dad has said I’ve probably seen some of the best football so far this season. So, this thread is starting with genuine positivity from me, as my brother Daniel (B4) would also have done. This match means so much more to the Beavis family than any result. We want everyone to wave their scraves and flanges (not literally, ladies 🙈) and raise the roof for both DCFC and Daniel. Please share the details of the applause far and wide.
I’m reliably told I need to predict a 3-0 win to Derby.
My dad, Andy and I, will be in the east stand, stairway 35. We’ll be having a drink before the match and at halftime. Please do come and say hello.

You can sort of achieve it with a 1 and an 8 but the Football league logo kind of ruins it.

From a @Ghost of Clough stats post:
""Over the past 5 weeks, Sibley has 2 goals and 2 assists from the 5 games he started.

Notts County - 90 mins played (mostly on the wings), 2 goals

Shrewsbury - 90 mins played (RW)

    Exeter - 71 mins (AM)

    Stevenage - 45 mins (AM), 1 assist

    Northampton - not used

    Crewe - 11 mins (AM), 1 assist

    Barnsley - 5 mins (CF)

    Crewe - 59 mins (RW), 1 assist

That's 2 goals and 3 assists in just 371 minutes over the past 5 weeks.

He started 4 games in a row (2 goals and an assist), yet HE'S the problem (!!!) so needs to be brought off at half time shortly after assisting our equaliser - we failed to score in the 2nd half. Dropped to the bench in the following game and not even used. 2 more assists in the following 75 minutes on the pitch (spread over 3 games), but he'll no doubt be back on the bench against Bristol.

Sibley has to play well every game, or he is subbed off and dropped the first time he 'plays badly'. Thompson can play well every game but still won't start unless we have an injury crisis. Hourihane and Smith can be poor in several consecutive games but still start next week."

It is old school, but if you have a winger very good at crossing, and a centre forward who is good in the air, it can be a great sight to behold. Unfortunately we have neither. With the players we have it seems the least obvious way of achieving success.

Couldn't agree more. The moment has gone.
I also think outside of giving the youngsters a run out, it wouldn't have hurt to give the senior players who have played 5 games in 3 weeks a game day off. Fast forward 6 short weeks to Christmas, there's every chance we'll be missing players here and there through injureies that might not have happened if they'd not played every game.
So it's detromental to the development of young players and increases the risk of injury to our senior players, and where did it get us? Losing to Crew over 2 games in the FA Cup first round.
At least they get a break now (assuming they're not running themselves silly in training)

So not only are they playing in games that could have been used to blood youngsters at the same time as giving them a rest, they'll now have to work even harder in training.
I'm going to predict muscle injuries on the horizon, low squad morale.
    Poor management in my eyes

For all of the criticisms of Warne and there are lots, the way he has chosen to manage the emergence of Weston is the biggest concern to me.
When Derby went 3 up against Barnsley it meant we could reward 1 or 2 of the youngsters who performed so well against Wolves, Weston being the main one.  A goal and an assist, I am sure he would have been chomping at the bit to add to this.
The fact he brought Bradley et al on, the same players who fail week in week out, flogging the same dead horse time and time again, shows just how much he values the kids and how much faith he has in them.
It is inexplicable that he didnt chuck Weston on for at least 10 minutes against Barnsley and tell him to go enjoy himself.
If nothing else, he could grow to become a sellable asset that we could use to recoup the money we have lost from being out of both cups in the first round.

    I see it differently.
I sensed a whole club mentality after the Wolves game. We had two ideal opportunities since to build on that. Particularly Weston. Think how good he felt after the Wolves match. We could easily have given him the last 15 -20 against Barnsley. Then last night, none of those senior players could have any complaints if they got subbed for a youngster. At 3-1 the game was perfectly set for a cup hero, no real pressue, just go out and see if you can get us back in. But no. All that good from the Wolves game wasted. That fire and desire in Weston dampened as he sits and watches players going through the motions. I imagine he feels somewhat deflated.
It just cements my opinion that Warne is not a risk taker and he sees anyone under 21/20 as a risk, with very little trust. For a club with an academy that we have done a lot of work to get back in shape it concerns me greatly.

I would highly doubt we would have conceded 5 or 6 with a few younger players in there.
Playing a "strong team" of old guys with their, what? 6th game in 3 weeks? That's foolish.

I don't disagree, I just think Ipswich are a bad example of that. They bought in 15 new players, spent millions in the window, along with some really shrewd loans from top premier league sides.
They also shipped out a load of dead wood from previous managers. 21 players in total left the club.
If we're following the Ipswich model, we need to sack Warne, get rid of almost the entire squad, spend millions on incoming players, get a young manager in his first job from a top side, and gamble massively that it all pays off. They way they went up was very, very Mel Morris-like, they just had the good fortune that it worked.
