Adapting your car analogy… it’s like Mel crashed his car into someone but then sold it off afterwards. Clowes bought said battered and falling to bits car and fixed it up, but certain posters here want Clowes to pay the insurance claim from the initial accident just because he now has the car!

If this is the case then Derby must have agreed a fee and given permission for him to talk to them. I have my doubts.

Finding the whole sackcloth and ashes routine rather tedious to be honest. We're not the first club to go into administration, nor will we be the last. We messed up, we, along with our creditors, paid a heavy price. It's over now, let it go.

As a mildly interesting story about white boots, my brother ordered a pair of white boots identical to the ones above from an advert in "Charlie Buchan's football monthly".....in the days of enclosing a postal order with your post. Weeks went by with no boots delivered and we got in touch with Derbyshire Trading standards, or "weights and measures" as they were known then. After much pestering by them, a pair of boots finally arrived BUT without the much in demand Hummel stripes....Trading standards took them to court on our behalf and my brother got the boots for free........they were still decent boots, but no stripes so just not "sold as advertised"
As hor Hinton...what a player. I think Hector also played a small number of games in white boots before Hinton but I may be wrong on that one.

I took advice from the guy who does the leather and shoe repairs on the BBC program the work shop, I had to restore the soles and asked the best way to retain their authenticity but to also ensure they would be around in 100 years, I also invested in the UV protective display, Alan is really pleased with what I have done, many of the items that I have within the collection have a high individual value but I would never sell any of it, I have paid thousands of pounds to put it together over a very long time and got to know many of the ex players along the way over the years and have earned their respect so it’s nice when they see the bigger picture of what I am trying to do in preserving the history of the club, John Gregory recently let me take ownership of his collection of Derby shirts, it is my intention to sit down with David Clowes and to take things forward in such a way that we can all benefit and share in the history of the club, had you seen the project has been completed on the Racecourse years shirts ? The collection of five ?

Saw this and looked at his profile to see which club his bias came from (assuming Forest) and was flabbergasted to see he is a Wigan fan.
Just shows the complete willful lack of understanding and general malice from the 'football family'.
I know it was discussed on here earlier about taking the moral high ground and not celebrating should another club went through what we have done. But... with the exception of Blackpool, Palace, Arsenal and a those passive fans who neither supported nor piled on, I would absolutely celebrate another club going through what we have done. Even if it's just to prove that we aren't a one-off and football as a whole is broken and to quash this ridiculous idea that we somehow deserve this.
Sorry, but after the 2 years we have had, I would relish the opportunity to say 'I told you so'. If that makes me a bad person then so be it.

Seriously, go and read the EFL written reasons again.  None of the roof/redevelopment etc stuff was factored in.  It was valued at ~£80m purely on the stadium as it existed right then.  And that was based on extrapolating from the costs to construct equivalent stadiums at that time.  The rise in costs is purely a function of rising construction costs.  Just compare the amounts spend (and the years they were built) building, e.g. 'Boro's stadium, to Cardiff's Stadium to Brighton's stadium and you'll see a very similar pattern to the value of our stadium.
