I’m not sure what to say after that, the tactics and set up were good. We had a 20 minute spell in the 2nd half where we just kept going long which lost our momentum and then we went back to our normal game in the last 15 minutes and started creating chances. The players have to take responsibility for not getting it in the net today, I can’t see how you can criticise the manager or coaching staff.

I don’t agree with it but true - in modern day football the captain talks the ref through the game and puts him under pressure. Bird has to learn fast.

Hourihane comments about us needing to wise up and influence ref’s in the game are interesting. I noticed him berating Bird to get up to the ref as the Captain and get in his ear after a poor decision.

If we don’t win this we can’t fault the manager or coaching staff. The training, the selection and tactics are spot on based on the first 30 minutes. If we don’t score and win it’s squarely on the players on the pitch not putting it away.

Orphanram got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Why Knight should start at RB
Taking a more straightforward view of how Knight has done in the games so far without all of the tactical machinations, I think Knights been OK but not out of this world. Defensively he hasn’t really been beaten much on the outside as his tenacity enables him to get tackles in. However, there have been quite a few occasions where he drops right off an shows the opposition wide player inside with a lot of distance between him and the man. What I’ve noticed in L1 is the wide man just send in crosses for the striker and they don’t cut inside and shoot as often as they do in the championship. Knight did this at Charlton in the 1st half which needed an excellent save from Wildsmith to prevent a goal and there have been examples of this in all the other games . Going forward he has done Ok again but nothing more than I’d expect from a RB in our team and the way we play. I agree with previous comments about him being an international midfielder and getting him back in the middle of the park.

On another note it’s seems that it’s a given that Hourihane has an automatic starting berth. Whilst he scored the winner against Oxford and has produced a few lovely deliveries in to the box, I’ve been a bit disappointed in his overall performances. It’s early days but I would like to see a midfield trio of Bird, Knight and Sibley given a try. If we are struggling to break teams down (which is a reoccurring theme for us) we could bring on Hourihane as quarter back sub and go a bit more direct late on to try and mix it up a bit, which would definitely feel like a genuine plan B.

    Precisely the point I making.
Unless we're expecting said striker to score a goal with every chance they're presented with which is just cloud cuckoo land.
We weren't adventurous enough and didn't want to win the game that badly so the draw is what we deserved and we got.
Funny how reading comments already saying we should be beating teams like Shrewsbury ? we've only been in this league for 5 minutes and already we've built up a divine right sense of entitlement.

And honestly, if anyone can explain to me what they think Rosenior got wrong to make them think he needs the sack, I'm all ears.
Can't believe I'm hearing calls like that this early on. Its as if none of you have ever actually watched football before this season

Weirdly cathartic to see the ridiculous posts calling for the managers head (albeit subtlety).Following last season it kind of feels like our very own freedom of speech moment, in that we fought for our future to even give daft folk a voice and a choice.

I was going to make this point. I'll reserve judgment on the quality of football come a wet Tuesday night in February away to a gritty Northern team scrapping for survival. I doubt we'll be seeing total football from either side at that point and we will really need to dig in and grind out results.
