Fair point. And in cases where a club emerges from admin under the same ownership as before, you’d expect the EFL to drive a very hard line. Hopefully they will give CK a bit of slack, since he was not instrumental in the turpitude

That's true about CK, but the main point about the business plan still applies to him as to any new owner. Every extra pound invested in players is a pound that they could have paid to creditors when buying the club, but decided not to.

I stuck predicted results for us only into the https://thefishy.co.uk/calc.php predictor. Wins against Bristol, Blackpool and Cardiff, draws against the other 3, then let the predictor do its thing. Final table looked like this :-

    Derby - 40

    Reading  - 37

    Barnsley  - 36

    Peterborough - 30

So even a computer thinks 9 points might be enough for us.

I just tried it and this time Reading got 43 points ...

I think you might have been lucky!

We are still odds on to go dow 1/8, we also have a depleted squad.  All you are buying is a handful of players and the golden share.  Bottom of Lg2 phoenix club may well appeal, no -15pts lots of money to then invesr getting us back to the championship.....

We are odds-on to down, yes, but 1/8 understates our chances of staying up!

The best price is 2/7 which gives us a 22% chance (i.e. double the chance of 1/8).

Of course, even that understates our chances of staying up. Not by much, mind you.

It doesn't matter that much really how they present it, all offers will have 3 headline figures thst really matter.

    Offer for Stadium (Most important).

Offer for HMRC (Maybe the hold up is checking with HMRC if they are content?).

Offer for unsecured creditors (-15pts in not 25p in £, not that Admin will give a toss).

Yes of course there may be little clauses etc that differ, but these are the 3 main numbers to consider....

    And, 4:

How much are the admins fees.

Playing devils advocate what is the administrators advantage to be levered by leaving it right down to the last minute.

I think it's what MackworthRamisGod said above, the administrators fees are part of the negotiations, and the discount they are prepared to accept. If their billed amount was £4m before Christmas (did I read that somewhere?) it would be double that now. Enough, on the face of it, to put off nearly all buyers. They would know that it would be a question of negotiation, how much of those fees a buyer is prepared to fund.

  6. Guys! Please! .... Scansion!

I love, love, love the song and the spirit, but the first line is doing my head in: it has too many syllables. You can't hear it very well, because everyone jumbles out "twenty one points" in a rush.

MUCH better if "points" was dropped and the line was "They docked us twenty one" - the same syllables and rhythm as "Allez allez allez" and you can finish the line on a good long "ooone".

Please amend accordingly and report for singing practice at the Riverside Stadium at 15:00 on 12 March.

So you can take an insurance policy out after the event ?

    Yes, you can.

Quite common in the legal world. Called after the event (ATE) insurance. It's literally a bet on the outcome of a case. Get somebody with deeper pockets to take the risk - for a price!

Do you remember when Michael Dunford left us and went to Everton as chief executive - Everton immediately signed Craig Short because they activated his release clause which was £2.5 million - Everton paid £2.5 million and one pence - which was the same as the Ziege transfer as they basically knew his erase clause only we don’t go around taking legal action against fellow clubs.

Didn't know that, interesting. Breach of confidentiality claim right there!

There's no precedent for it so its not a given and could possibly leave the EFL open to being sued if they come to that conclusion.

    #ducktheeflwithkieranleesmember,dry.

I think the precedent for it is that when Boro sued Liverpool over the Ziege transfer, and settled, that was treated as a football debt. But arguably it is different, because that was a transfer claim - they were saying they would have got a higher transfer fee if Liverpool hadn't tapped him up.

Brill. One of the questions in the last round was to name a pointless FA Cup winner between 1901 and 1999. I got 3 pointless answers. Bury, Burnley and the mighty Rams ?

Very satisfying. No doubt vindicating your decision to watch it instead of contemplating how to satisfy Gibson.

Being interviewed by Everton apparently - Percy RT

I think (hope) that is slight journalistic overstatement. The sub-heading says Everton have a shortlist of four and "will" interview them. (i.e. assuming those four want to talk). Doesn't say Wayne has turned up with his CV and is sitting outside the Chairman's office right now.

Apart from the legal standing being shaky (in our collective opinions), the actual logic of a £45m claim makes no sense does it? Surely the claim has to be £180m (or whatever promotion is allegedly worth these days) or it is zero.

Their argument is that our wrong doing cost them sixth place, but clubs don't get each-way bets in a play-off campaign - it's winner takes all or nowt!

The courts award damages on a principle called "loss of a chance" - Boro's claim is to be compensated for the value of their chance of getting promoted, i.e. a certain percentage of the £180m (or whatever) jackpot.

A bigger problem with Boro's claim is that it seems to assume they would just keep all of the additional revenue. Of course they wouldn't! A lot would go on increased wages, transfer fees, agents' fees, etc. A court would be very sceptical if Boro claim they intended to barely increase spending and probably go straight back down rather than spend in an attempt to stay up.

  13. Player wages budget of £15.775 million and max 25 permitted players to the end of the season ... How does that compare to where we are now? The definition of player is now someone who has played 3 league matches at Champ level or higher.

It seems to apply only until the end of this season.

So what's the alternative to Ramstrust and how does is supplant them?

One of the reasons I wouldn't entertain Ramstrust..just a horrible human being..it's sad that we are stuck with this useless supporters trust..same faces on their 'Board' pretty much since day 1 and they have achieved next to nothing in that time. Its alright saying don't complain and criticise blah blah join and change from within but that will never happen, best thing they could ever do for DCFC fans is disband and let a new fresh inclusive Trust get things done.

The only thing to do is join and vote.

    It's two quid!!
