Rooney's assessment was spot on. Just looked a bit disconnected tonight and QPR stretched us and exploited the gaps. We've just taken 4 points from the top 3... Going unbeaten would have been great but the best team won and that's how it goes!

Not the best time to be a Rams fan or Derbyshire cricket supporter. Maybe Bielik’s return will give the team a lift…
I've heard his wobble ball is like Jimmy Anderson reincarnated...

Agree with this. Back in the day when we've been at our fluent attacking best, is when we've have had wide players and midfielders going beyond the central striker.
We actually have players with the ability to do this, it's a mindset thing for me. When I was playing, we were always told to gamble in the final third and get the defenders guessing. It was effective, forced mistakes, created space etc.
It's frustrating to watch players seemingly 'not' want to get on the score sheet but can't fault their effort and team spirit in other areas of the pitch. Just need to get a couple more bombing on and busting a gut to get beyond the defensive line and into scoring positions.

And programme sales revenues.... oh wait, they can't be arsed with producing one of those.
They should do a 'Derby Till We Die' special for the Reading game at a fiver just as a one-off.
"We're Derby til Derby dies" would be a more appropriate title

Let's hope we get more than 11 points though ?
Ha depending on when the deductions come in, we could be closer to -11 by the end of it...

It's like the Premier League 11 point season. We are Derby, let's all play our part and get behind the lads.

If we're reborn through administration can we rename ourselves Derby City and re-sign Bradley Johnson?

The bile spewed at Rooney from some corners was disgusting. I didn't desperately want a high profile player-manager to begin with. However, he's clearly doing his best and responding well under a lot of pressure. The way he has talked about pride and determination aren't made up, he clearly has the support of the players and genuinely cares about doing the best by the club. I wouldn't have blamed him for jumping ship but credit to him for sticking with it and fighting!
The whole club needs our support, particularly on the field.

Lee Carsley against (Southampton I think, could have been Wednesday) in the prem. Think we won 4-0 and remember him scoring a beauty to Steve Mac's utter disbelief. I remember him absolutely bossing the show and looking like bald Pirlo.
Don't think he ever got those heights before or after to be honest.

Goalkeeper - good

Midfield - good (with Bielik)
Forwards - missing a goal-scorer
I applaud your optimism but afraid this season has dismal written all over it. Even with the trialists, we are hugely limited and lacking quality and energy in all areas. Add the circus / cloud enveloping the club for the last few years and it has all the ingredients for another relegation battle if not capitulation.
The only thing that might save us is some seige mentality but for that you need commanding leadership and I'm not sure the Rooney / Lawrence combo is going to give us that!
I'm normally very positive but I fear the worst.

I think if we'd been doing well, it would have been light relief and something positive to hold onto.
As it's been a complete horror show, I've disengaged completely and masochistically wanted us to go down.
So it's a 'meh' from me... And I'm not seeing the new season as a beacon of hope sadly!
On the bright side at least we're not managed by Paul Jewell any more...

Soon enough in not sure I'll have a 1st club...
Derby City anyone? We could resign Bradley Johnson...

I know people say the captaincy doesn't count for much in football and compared to rugby and cricket it doesn't but it does mean something to the players, it is a role of the pitch to set the tone etc.
I can see this going well for the first few months and then becoming stickier when it gets cold and wet.
It's a risky strategy to appoint him. I hope that's a sign that Rooney is going to take a few more risks and impose a bit more forward thinking on the side.
Good luck to the lad.

The narrator's intonation made every sentence sounds like a surprise... Particularly some of the signings we made for lots of money, like as though he just couldn't believe the script he was reading.
Welcome to our world Barry!
(not sure if Barry is his name but he sounded like a Barry)

It's tough being an attacking wide player in this league. There are millions of them and only a few really stand apart. They all struggle with consistent end product.
I think he's work in progress but with better tactics and more quality to play off up top, I think he'd be one of our better players. I like his drive and positivity, lord knows we need some of that moving forward...

Treated my wife to a 3 course midweek date night
Teriyaki Sea Bass with pickled cucumber.
Beef rendang with mushroom rice
Raspberry & chocolate cheesecake
Bottle of Vina Sol
Notes:
Tough too much ginger in the rendang paste
Otherwise bang on the money

Would our current squad challenge for promotion from League One?

I'd love to see Bielik for use in League 1. I think we'll keep a few but it all depends on who buys the club. Without goals we'll struggle in any League though!
