Team selection will be interesting given his "freshen things up" comment.
Cashin suspended, Waghorn injured and can't see him starting Sibley.
NML fit enough to start again? Same question for Fozzy? Did Washington do enough to start over Collins?
-
Do not give him another transfer window

I mostly agree with this, but I've seen more pace in the old peoples home than that back line.
-
I'm guessing he will get the next two league and two cup games, make the change over the international break if they want to.
-
I don't think they're incredible and should be leading leading league 1 and earning 100+ points.
I do think they're as good as Oxford and Portsmouth and I do think they are capable of competing for top 2, but at minimum top 6.
-
It may be case of "Give it Bucko until the end of the season".
I'm not saying hes necessarily up to it for would do a great job, but he would surely get the fans backing
-
He lost the plot a bit second half didn't he?
Was it 3 formation changes? I couldn't tell what was going on, not sure players could either.
NML played right wing, left wing, up front and right wing back in the space of half an hour.
Most comical was Nyambe somehow ending up at left wing back

Pretty good last night, probably the most complete performance of the season albeit against a very poor Exeter.
Midfield looked far more energetic and with more quality on the ball, Waggy much better suited to playing as a lone striker and wingers did well against there men.
Still think we rely too much on wide play and often both of the pivot in midfield are splitting and leaving a chasm in the centre which limits options.
Some definite green shoots after some pretty dire performances, be interesting to see what he does Saturday, will he return to form in a away game?
-
Basically the same setup I've been wanting for a while.
Was tempted to have Wilson in over Nyambe purely for attacking output, coming to conclusion that I'm not a fan of starting we Nyambe and Forsyth at full back as it almost feels like we are starting with 4 centre backs at times, so one has to change.
I think Fornah and Bird could work brilliantly as a double pivot, Bird always benefits from someone to do the dirty work next to him and both are capable of playing with the ball.
Waghorn up front as he might succeed in holding the ball up, don't think Collins is capable of playing as the lone striker.

Nyambe Nelson Cashin Elder

I just don't see it happening, its not as if we've been playing well and unlucky not to win, we pretty much always get what we deserved and sometimes more!

I don’t understand this view?
We’ve got players that are much closer to a technical passing game than this more physical sort of game.
Im not saying get Mac back but if you look at what made his side successful:
defenders comfortable with passing the ball out - I think Nelson and Cash can do this (at this level) as well as Keogh and Buxton managed in the division above.
Solid central midfield options with one of the midfielders able to absolute dictate. I think we have strong options here when they’re not expected to just do doggies.
Dangerous wide players who can score - I think between Barkhuizen and NML as first choice and Wilson and Sibley as back ups we have enough to get us through until the loan market reopens. Remember the reason we don’t have many wider players is because Warne wanted wingbacks so it’s not inconceivable to think there are players out there we can utilise.
A forward who brought others into play and can finish chances. Obviously none of our strikers come close to Martin during that time but Waghorn is the best of the bunch at knitting things together and we’re a whole division lower. It won’t be as liquid but there’s enough of the key elements already within the squad to have a good go at it.
I think we have really excellent technical midfields for this level, all of them are capable of playing with the ball at their feet and not watching it fly over their heads.

I thought you'd need company.
That is such a baffling interview
It's the sort of interview you might give after you've just had 20 shots on goal and somehow lost 1-0, not when you've just been deservedly beaten.
"We need to take our chances"
So do Shrewsbury! If both teams took all there chances yesterday, we still would've lost .

It's a absolutely gash, deserved to lose 3-0 today. Get him gone.
-
This is tragic
-
Nice of us to start trying to play football at 1-0 down, been gash.
-
It's a decent team and it's what I expected from him, but just feel that midfield 3 is so defensive and a little slow. Just needs an attacking flair.
Appreciate we haven't got all players fit to start, but guessing that even then it would be Sibley that dropped out

Its definitely a squad good enough for top 2, maybe lacking a 20+ goal player but enough players capable of hitting 10, right now we are underperforming and need to change that quickly.

I think warne is lucky in general, I don’t think we deserve the amount of points we have got so far this season
but better to be lucky than good I suppose
Better to be both 😄
Looking at a couple xG tables, they place us in 13th. So yea, currently overperforming...

The football is really turgid stuff, first half was dreadful.
So incredibly one dimensional, get it out wide and hope the winger can beat the full back and cross.
No plan for if that doesn't work, seemingly full backs are being told not to overlap and we aren't trying to progress play through the middle.
Early subs made sense and did improve us but he lost the plot towards the end.
Bird had a big impact playing from deep, when he got pushed further forward he got crowded out, I thought the obvious change would have been Smith off (who'd had a poor game) and drop Bird back in with Sibley at 10.
The change to a back 3 and bringing Washington on absolutely killed us and Cheltenham could've had a winner.
We need to be vastly more creative and actually attempt to score goals in ways other than crosses and set pieces, but I don't see this changing.
Think Warne is a little bit lucky that there is no home game next weekend, a bad result there would have gone down very poorly.

I didn't say it was wrong, just that people were hoping for more.
I don't think he made enough errors to warrant booing.
I would add that Waghorn is increasingly trying to 'buy' free kicks, some efforts convince fans more easily than refs.
I know you weren't, just adding I thought it was pretty fair.
Thought the ref was pretty good myself, at least compared to some others we've had.

I didn't think he made any major mistakes. I think only playing 3 minutes additional time annoyed everyone because of the general frustration of the game
I'm not sure he should've added much more? Can't remember any major stoppages and no goals. Only 3 sets of substitutions made second half as well

Definitely better last night, although has to be caveated that Northampton are comfortably the worst side we've played this season.
Performance was good and created plenty without ever looking exposed at the back.
Challenge is the same as last week, can we build on it and put a couple results together whilst maintaining performance level.
Lots of players put in really good performances, perhaps only concern is average age of the starting 11 was 30.3.
