Not everything we want given that isn't given is a mistake. The handball claim from the shot in the second half hit his shoulder. Someone on here has a still which proves he wasn't offside.

She is one of the better refs.

Remember her having a good game last season.

Couple questionable ones both ways yesterday, but still about the best I've seen this season.

Will be fast tracked to the prem I reckon

That's one thing I found strange from the fans forum. Warne said he will select an academy player if he can play the way he wants. But shouldn't the academy and first team play the same style? The club should have one style of play running right through it so that players and managers can easily be replaced without disrupting the whole team.

That's another issue with having warne as manager, clubs higher up the league want to play football and want to sign players that they know can do that.

We want the academy to produce players that can play football in the right way and so are attractive to higher level clubs to pay big money for.

Warneball doesn't do this, there's no point in the academy producing good footballers if they are just going to be wasted by Warne.

Peterborough always had a knack for making strikers look great by playing attacking football, so they could sell them off the back of a high scoring season.

Hit the bar in the first half, Fozzy chance at the back post, Barkhuizen chance near the end and the penalty gets you fairly close to 1.75 xG.

Fair enough, I must admit to not remembering us hit the bar first half mind.

Can't see barkhuizen chance adding up to much.

Annoyingly, there used to be a guy on twitter that did really good xG timelines for games , but looks like he's given it up.

I’m not sure, personally, both are much of muchness. Not sure there’s much between them - both have been excellent for us in the grand scheme of things.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a bad keeper, Carson went through a regression stage but at his best was the probably the best I’ve ever seen in a Derby shirt. Roos wasn’t commanding, but was an outstanding shot stopper.

Suppose it deserves its own thread really, but wonder how people would rank our keepers for the last ~10 years?

Lots of clubs operate a points system, so many for a season ticket and then points awarded for matches attended, away matches or cup matches.

Personally I am happy with the current system.

Only thing about the system that annoys me, is that cup matches don't count.

  6. Thin Warne is verging on delusional if he thought we were close to winning any of the three home games.

More importantly for this match, no Wilson, Ward or Bird does put us in a bit of a bind.

I don't believe that 3 at the back is causing our problems, you can play that formation and be succesful many have.

So with that is mind I think our options are:

    1. Persist with 3 atb and play NML out there

    2. Go to a back 4 with Rooney at right back

I'd probably favour the latter as losing NML up front would remove our last shred of dynamism.

    Rooney Fozzy Cashin Elder

    Smith Thompson

    NML Hourihane Waggy

I do wonder how much of his choice are the players we’ve brought in , our recruitment has certainly not gone along with what he said he wanted to bring in in terms of age and athleticism, is there a bit of him saying this what I want and being given this is the best we can get ? I don’t mean massively but there could be a bit of feeling he’s not getting the tools to do the job or the type of player he can mould to do the job,

I find the Bradley thing odd , if he was his marquee signing would he be subbing him the way he is or trusting him to settle given time on the pitch

I can't imagine Vickers and Washington were anyones signings other that Warnes

Worth noting that despite the near catastrophe and world falling apart of last pre season, we finished 7th after 46 matches. Surely a calmer pre season with an established manager and a recruitment guru should show an improvement?

Especially when Ipswich and Weds have left the party and a points deducted Wigan and off field craziness Reading have joined it.

I can't help but feel Warne's 'needs to be a good person' has held us back. Sure i agree with the plan on paper, but give me the Devil up front if he knows how to hit 20 a season.

Very concerning that after a near catastrophe of last season, come the first few games of the season we looked a much more cohesive team than we do now.

We definitely could have targeted more younger players. Here's a list of players from our main promotion rivals meeting, who (a) didn't cost a transfer fee (ie. free or loan), (b) are under 30, and (c) have been used in the league already this season:

Barnsley - Liam Roberts (28, GK), Kacper Lopata (21, CB) Kyran Lofthouse (22, RB), Andy Dallas (24, CF)

Blackpool - Matthew Pennington (28, CB), Albie Morgan (23, CM)

Bolton - Nathan Baxter (24, GK), Joel Coleman (27, GK), Josh Dacres-Cogley (27, RB), Paris Maghoma (22, CM)

Charlton - Lloyd Jones (27, CB), Panutche Camara (26, CM)

Oxford - James Beadle (19, GK), Jordan Thorniley (26, CB), Fin Stevens (19, RB), Stanley Mills (19, RW), Rúben Rodrigues (27, CF), Mark Harris (24, CF)

Peterborough - Romoney Crichlow (24, CB), Peter Kioso (23, RB)

Portsmouth - Will Norris (29, GK), Conor Shaughnessy (27, CB), Regan Poole (25, CB), Jack Sparkes (22, LB), Ben Stevenson (26, CM), Alex Robertson (20, CM), Gavin Whyte (27, RW), Abu Kamara (20, CF)

Reading - Tyler Bindon (18, CB), Tivonge Rushesha (21, CM), Lewis Wing (28, CM), Harvey Knibbs (24, CF)

Wigan - Liam Morrison (20, CB), Kell Watts (23, CB), Sean Clare (26, RB), Matt Smith (22, CM), Jonny Smith (26, RW)

Wycombe - Kane Vincent-Young (27, RB), Harry Boyes (21, LB), Freddie Potts (20, CM), Kian Breckin (19, CM), Dale Taylor (19, CF)

Matt Pennington and Lloyd Jones would were my top 2 CB picks who didn't end up in the Championship, Jack Sparkes my top LWB pick. Harvey Knibbs in an AM role. Aaron Pressley and Tyler Walker (at sides lower in the table) were also my top 2 CF targets, etc..

Some really good players in there, not sure what would be more concerning - we were never in for them, or they had better offers from others in League 1.
