    I bought a lightbulb at B&Q.
The guy asked me if I was going to put it up myself.
I said “no, it’s going in the dining room lamp you perv.”

Yes I was there but luckily did not see any trouble. I do remember having to go in with Forest due to Dads mate who got me ticket being a red. Kept quiet until they missed a penalty and cheered. Big blokes looking around who was doing it and seeing a kid!

Performance would be great - but the nights out as their manager would be better.

It happened on 26th December 1978.
    We drew 1-1 at forest.
It was absolute carnage all day. Running battles from Nottingham station to the ground before and after the game. Derby fans were on the trains from 9am and causing havoc in and around slab square. I was 18 and could run like a whippet then. It came in useful at times but my personal memories of that day were Derby being in the ascendency and giving it large, hence the Boxing Day song.

I generally wish Chesterfield and Notts County well, mainly from reading their match reports etc in the Green Un in the late 60s and the fact that they survive despite being local to bigger and more successful teams. I've also got respect for Charlton from living in the area and knowing what they went through in the 80s in particular.

I was watching 'Iron Maiden in Rio' on telly the other week, the audience was an estimated 350,000.
I can remember seeing them at the Assembly Rooms in front of an audience of about 1500. Now we haven't got anywhere even that big.

Discovering rock music and the bands around at the time. There was huge mystery surrounding them which was part of the appeal to me. Only information was in either 'Sounds' or 'Kerrang'. Listening to the Friday Rock Show. Seeing band logos appearing on kids school bags. AC/DC, Ozzy Osbournes Blizzard of Ozz, Motorhead, Rainbow, Iron Maiden, Saxon and others.

Very good and disturbing equally.  Michel Lang of course did organise the original Woodstock. Fortunately for him they were all high on LSD and herbal marijuana for the most part and then the army bailed him out with free water distribution.  Not so this time, £8 dollars for water and a much angrier line up of acts and punters.
As at foot note, Norman Cooks fookin aged.

Just watched Trainwreck: Woodstock 99 on Netflix.  Shocking little docuseries, 3 episodes long.  The utter lack of acceptance from the organising is mind boggling.  Definitely worth a watch if you've not already.

I've watched the first half a dozen episodes/stories so far, and this stuff is right up my street. It definitely has a 'Twilight Zone' feel to it.
