Graham Richards had a vocabulary to die for and a great turn of phrase.
Ed Dawes and RD do an excellent job for local radio and don’t deserve the vile abuse they get.
Turn the radio off if you have a problem.

Ed Dawes wears his heart on his sleeve and is a Ram through and through; don’t get the animosity towards him. He’s a good commentator and I feel connected to him precisely because he’s one of us. Hope he’s ok.

My opinion is that Radio Derby have churned out some excellent sports reporters over the years and I include Ed Dawes in that.
I also wish Sally Pepper all the best for the future.

It's quite an unpleasant forum on here sometimes isn't it.
The blokes doing his job,has some time off for unknown reasons and gets personally slagged off by fellow derby supporters whilst he does so.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about Bloomers.
Shrewsbury wore T-shirts with his, and another supporters’ name on, when they celebrated that promotion.
Fantastic broadcaster, wonderful bloke. I miss him.

Please, can we have one day, tomorrow, where not one post is made about Paul f****** Warne. If you think him great or s****, let’s just have one bloody day on this forum where we can discuss something different. Just one day. It’s doing my head in coming on here and every thread is about him. Thank you.

1Wildsmith 6.5 a lot less busy than I expected him to be, made one smart save and collected a few tame shots
35Nelson 7.5 solid, especially in the air
6Cashin 7 solid, but because he tries to find a player with a pass he makes mistakes. Nelson just kicks it out and doesn't worry about the next phase. Ironically, makes him look better!
3Forsyth 7.5 if only we had 11 Fozzies, effort and control
    11Méndez-Laing 5 a mistake starting him today
17Sibley 7 lively and can pass a ball to another player, looks match fit
12Smith 6.5 looked better than of late, both at rightish back and in midfield. Still tidy rather than inspiring
4Hourihane 6 another injury, getting worried about these now
Embleton 6 a bit anonymous,  I thought he was pulling out of challenges. Will hopefully improve with game time
22Fornah 6 wasn't sure what he added to the game and had a silly booking which could have contributed to a red card. After he went off I realised what he'd been doing!
20Elder 5 he is like an overgrown puppy, enthusiastic but totally lacking in limb control
Barkhuizen 6.5 looked tidy, another who can pass to another Derby player - that's three!
10Waghorn 7 fantastic workrate, good pressing, nearly had another deflected goal and saved us one by heading off the line. Didn't really get much service.
14Washington 6 he chases down the ball so well it's a shame he's not very good at using it when he gets there
9Collins 6.5 looked lively, didn't mind him coming out wide to receive ball as we still had Waggy in middle. Took the penalty well
Warne 4.5 Still doesn't set us up right (Elder at some high wide left position that I'm not sure has a name?) and undid the reward our hard work could have acheived by putting us into a back 5 after we scored. As usual, marking then goes to pot and we concede.

Must admit, that performance was simply dreadful. No pattern of play, no strategy, no cohesion, no passing, no movement, no game management, no shots, no idea.
Of most concern is that there is absolutely no improvement at all compared to last season.
Pre-season favourites for promotion? Don’t make me laugh.
    Hopeless.

It is a interesting point you raise.
I think with LR at least you could see the improvements and progress within a short space of time, in terms of entertainment and creating good chances. Was it Fleetwood away where we absolutely destroyed them and somehow we couldn't hit the ball in the net. 30 plus shots or something ridiculous. As a supporter I came away thinking we were highly unlucky and you can see a plan and pattern of play being created.
With Paul Warne there is no plan. There is no pattern of play. He is trying to turn technical footballers into 15km a match athletes. A polite term would be clunky football currently. Today I will give him a pass because he nearly beat a very competitive Portsmouth team. But the football was hideous, we looked like the away side, he is so lucky how many supporters still turn up every week to back him and the team. This squad has so much more to give in my view and yet they are being hampered by a manager who still has not got his head around managing a bigger club. When you come to a larger reputation team like ours, the manager needs to adapt and evolve his ideas. I'm not saying play Pep slick passing football every week. At least if you want to play a counter attacking style, identify and recruit players with pace and energy and not lads in the twilight of their careers.
Lovely chap off the pitch, he could talk my ear off in a pub. Watching his dreadful attempt at football is becoming embarrassing. And I'll cheer the lads until the 98th minute at the ground. If we was an underdog team in this division I could accept the Warne way. With this budget and caliber of player, surely we can play much better than this?
