As a spectacle it’s like watching men imitate 8 year olds who chase the ball and hoof it with little thought for creativity. We sorely miss Bird. It’s an eyesore to watch. Nelson just kicks it out and doesn't worry about the next phase. Ironically, makes him look better! 3Forsyth 7.5 if only we had 11 Fozzies, effort and control 11Méndez-Laing 5 a mistake starting him today 17Sibley 7 lively and can pass a ball to another player, looks match fit 12Smith 6.5 looked better than of late, both at rightish back and in midfield. Still tidy rather than inspiring 4Hourihane 6 another injury, getting worried about these now Embleton 6 a bit anonymous, I thought he was pulling out of challenges. Will hopefully improve with game time 22Fornah 6 wasn't sure what he added to the game and had a silly booking which could have contributed to a red card. After he went off I realised what he'd been doing! 20Elder 5 he is like an overgrown puppy, enthusiastic but totally lacking in limb control Barkhuizen 6.5 looked tidy, another who can pass to another Derby player - that's three! 10Waghorn 7 fantastic workrate, good pressing, nearly had another deflected goal and saved us one by heading off the line. Didn't really get much service. 14Washington 6 he chases down the ball so well it's a shame he's not very good at using it when he gets there 9Collins 6.5 looked lively, didn't mind him coming out wide to receive ball as we still had Waggy in middle. Took the penalty well Warne 4.5 Still doesn't set us up right (Elder at some high wide left position that I'm not sure has a name?) and undid the reward our hard work could have acheived by putting us into a back 5 after we scored. Defensively okay but his passing was woeful 3Forsyth 6.5 normal, reliable self without being outstanding 11Méndez-Laing 5 should have been subbed earlier 17Sibley 7 not brilliant but at least he played some football! 12Smith 6 tidy but that’s not really enough 4Hourihane 5 struggled even before his injury Embleton 5 showed nothing special and fluffed clearances 22Fornah 6 would like to see him run with the ball more. Bit reckless. 20Elder 5, was okay first half but awful second. Barkhuizen 6.5 cross led to pen, had late chance and got in good areas 10Waghorn 7.5, my MOM for sheer effort. Never stopped trying. 14Washington 4 seriously what does he offer? I don’t see it. 9Collins 6.5 did okay and loved his pen. Ref 8/10 the only quality on view yesterday. Inspires confidence. 6Cashin - 7 - won plenty in the air and tackled well 3Forsyth - 7 - good defensively and mostly effective link-up going forward 11Méndez-Laing - 6 - not much going on today. Tired from international duty? 17Sibley - 6.5 - looked sharp. Hope to see more of him. 12Smith - 7 - his best game so far this season, mainly in the first-half at RB. 4Hourihane - 6 - one wicked delivery from set-pieces. We don't need any more injuries but if it gives someone with a bit of pace an opportunity in the middle I can definitely see a silver lining. Embleton - 6.5 - decent debut. Am expecting more though. 22Fornah - 6.5 - stupid booking meant presumably not risked for the second half. Otherwise had a decent half. 20Elder - 6.5 - decent performance on the whole Barkhuizen - 6.5 - bit of a spark. Shame about the finish after his good work late on. 10Waghorn - 6.5 - for effort. Not much happening for him otherwise. 14Washington - 6.5 - see Waggy comment. Didn't think he was as "outstanding" as claimed on Rams Player (!) 9Collins - 6.5 - well done for the pen. Feared the worst when he stepped up (thought Waggy would take it) but good to see his confidence and took it expertly. Wilson - 6 - decent effort given he probably isn't fully fit. Should have hit target at the end 10Waghorn 7 Worked hard, hit bar. Looked lively 14Washington 5.5 Poor. Never looks likely to score and poor final ball for Waghorn. Energy isn’t enough when you have little quality. 9Collins 7 Better than Washington. Drifted too much in Sibleys way but did well. Good peno.
