Not convinced on this. 
I think he sat down this summer with his advisors and gamed the options available.
He ended up sticking with the poo fest here and backing himself to pull though as there weren’t any better options. 
If he fails he can blame the club being in a mess and go back to manure or Everton in a coaching capacity and reset his career.
 

I feel the same. I always though he was pretty impressive at Wolves. I know he's on the way down career wise, but I'm puzzled by the almost blanket negative reaction from our fans.

I'm not sure that having a big name as a player matters for anything unless you show some ability at managing a football club.
And let's be honest,no one has tried to tempt him away have they.

I don’t think he’s as bad as is being made out. He’s got a lot of experience in the Champ and even Prem. 
We’re looking to avoid finishing in the bottom three so he should be good enough for us as rotation/cover.
The only concern would be how much he’s deteriorated with age.

He's got nowhere to go,no one else has offered him a job and to move onwards to prem team he needs to prove he can do better than last year's efforts.
If he walks he also loses substantial dollar even if,as some believe,he's a multi billionaire who is above the concept of money.
In the unlikely event that Ollie goes missing in a freak speedboat incident and man u knocked on Wayne's £60 hotel room door and managed to awaken him from his slumber,he'd be off like a rat up a drainpipe,never to mention his time at Derby county again.

But he is at a big Championship club, with his record so far where would he go?

Amongst all this nonsense though, a nod to Curtis Davies. He's seen his fair share of bullcrap in his time here and is still willing to stick by us.
What a guy.

Another example of mel wasting money. Why use drones when he could stand at the side of the road with binoculars 

He put his body and potentially the rest of whatever is left of his career on the line to come on for the last 10 minutes against Wednesday and help us hang on to survival.
We haven't had many modern day heroes to shout about at Derby recently, but he'll always be remembered as one. I'm glad he's still here.

Anyone advocating getting rid of Tom Lawrence while we're in our current situation is a complete fool, in my humble opinion.

if we did sell him it would be shocking.... because we already short of a team as it is. 

Nonsense in my opinion. I don't even think he'd be in the top 50 worst signings in the last 20 years

Thats just off the top of my head. He gets unfairly criticised in my opinion.  
 

I realise  you think you're being funny, but why do our 'fans' feel the need to do this? He's signed for us when we're in desperate need of players - I think that earns him the right to be given a chance before people take the mick.....

He’s approaching cult hero status for me. Put his body on the line last game of the season and has now signed for (comparative) peanuts. I get the feeling he has a real affinity for the club and wants to help out. He’s a genuinely good human being.

Although our squad is threadbare at least we now have 2 centre half’s. Should be enough to beat Huddersfield. Let’s see if we bring more in by end of August, hopefully the accounts will be sorted by then. Also I agree let’s get behind the team tomorrow whoever plays 

If the rumours are true then it’s good to see Davies sign, Steerman is a bit meh…….but might work out as cover/rotation and not sure why Allsop unless we’re losing a keeper.
I see a lot of hand wringing over losing Morrison, I’m not fussed at all and would rather see Sibley given the game time.
 
Morrison is a very risky option and I don’t see why we would tie up a valuable squad space and wages on a player like that when we have Sibbo and even Lawrence who can play that role.
The other one I would like to have seen sign is Jaglielka, yes he’s old but you could have rotated him and Davies to keep both fresh.

Steve Mac/Wassall combo would do just fine. Wassall would be better in developing the youngsters too ???

Hear me out because I've got posting fever at the moment.
Would anyone on here be gutted if rooney did leave? If he resigned today it would be a shambles, sure I agree on that, but if he left and we put someone like steve mac in charge I feel that  over the course of the season we might be better off.
Just talking out loud really, I'm not saying it should happen.
