Perfectly put my friend. Perfectly put.
I was 17 when the game was on and can recall so much about it and reckon if pushed i could name you both starting 11...I watched all of the city v QPR game and couldn’t tell you more than 4 players in It...dramatic it certainly was, but as iconic as the Thomas game...? Not even close.

I haven’t seen one person ever say football was invented in 1992, it’s the same line that’s thrown out to belittle younger fans opinions like it’s their fault they was born into the Premier League era.
That game might be iconic for your generation and older, but clearly not for younger generations.

I know who Michael Thomas is, but I don’t know the goal or the game. I was 6 at the time, sorry.
It’s unlikely that anyone who wasn’t born or was a young age at the time of a game between 2 clubs they do not support are going to go back and watch the game.
But it’s mentioned in a book and 2 films, great but what if you haven’t read or watched those?
I haven’t and it’s not like I have been living under a rock.
During this lockdown many classic games are being shown, RamsTV is compiling goals that I and others would probably never have seen had it not been for the lockdown.
There will have been many great games over the years and there will be many more in years to come, the longer you are on this earth the more you will see and be able to talk about.
As years go by there will be fewer and fewer fans to insult younger fans with football wasn’t invented in 1992, just because they haven’t seen a goal or a game.
Saying that, the leagues and cups will be probably rebranded and repackaged and us young’uns will be just like the old‘uns now banging on about football wasn’t invented in 2056 you know, flabbergasted by 21 year olds that haven’t seen the play off second leg at Leeds United and the scenes following Marriott’s goal.

There is no football without fans, we already knew this as do clubs.
With the Bundesliga back up and running without fans, just 3 of the 16 games have seen a home win.
Has home advantage been removed with no fans?
Some have always dismissed the effect fans can have on the players, but the Bundesliga experiment is showing teams at home are struggling to overcome teams above them in the table.
Does that not highlight how important our support is, getting behind the team?
You buy your ticket you can sit in silence, rant and rave or get behind them, you’re choice, nobody can tell you how to behave in your seat, but when when Pride Park reopens just remember what football was like without fans.
Maybe, just maybe we can help get those wins? 🤷🏻‍♂️
(As I write this, the away team has just gone 3-0 up in the first half in the Bundesliga)

The same Daniel Sturridge that has only started 10+ (11) games in one season once since 13/14!
Good grief, that would be an horrendous signing, you would need 2 bog rolls to write down his injury history.
    Bonkers.

I hope the EFL are overseeing the testing, this does look a tad suspicious following their letters to end the season.
Whilst I don’t want to dismiss valid concerns and cast doubt over test results, it does seem to be affecting the more vocal clubs at the foot of the table, including the Premier League, does come across as a desperate attempt to use this virus as a way to avoid relegation.

The biggest problem with RDR2 was the developers saying "Life as a cowboy was hard work, if we make even the simplest of things in the game a slog, it'll be more of an authentic and immersive experience",  and people eating that particular line of ******** en mass declaring it the best game they've ever played.
Nearly everything you do in the game is utterly pointless, but hey life is futile really isn't? YEAH! No, duck off.
You criticise it, you get "well you just didn't 'get' the experience" or "clearly it's not the type of game for you, you just want everything to be fast action and easy victories" or somsuch poo. No, I just know a badly engineered sinkhole when I see one.
Don't get me wrong, plenty will enjoy the experience but it is, was, and always will be a terrible game. I mean ducking hell, your main character dies and god knows how many years later you're playing as a replacement... who just so happens to have the exact same mannerisms, movement, skills (which actually have virtually no bearing on gameplay) and inventory as some bloke he had quite a vague relationship with years ago.
I didn't finish the epilogue and can't think of a single reason to go back to play it.
The original RDR was fantastic, RDR2 was not.

Not read it but will go and hunt it out as no fans has a bigger impact on the game than we probably realised.
Will also be interesting to see how the referees perform without 30k fans on his back calling for decisions and all the names under the sun.

There was a decent article on the Athletic in a similar vein.
Managers will now pick players who they wouldn't have otherwise, due to them being adversely affected by the pressure of performing in front of a crowd.
