Good job he left Derby to aid his development, without doing that he wouldn't have this glorious opportunity to play for Derby.

This made me think about signings in particular, and I realised we haven't really had decent recruitment since Clough. I remeber at the time people bemoaning his loyalty to his back room staff, that they weren't at this level, and his brother as head of recruitment. But I honestly can't think of any signings since that compare with the likes of Martin, Bryson, Russell, Keogh, Eustace for longevity and effecriveness. Even Mac's success was built around Clough's signings, and any other memorable players we've had in the intervening years have come from the academy.

Said this for ages, Roos is a good championship keeper and gets way too much abuse. Marshall has also on the flip side been very average, yet he's being made to be "the next Poom" by a lot of our fans. Roos gets enormous amounts of criticism yet doesn't deserve to. People go on about Roos not being commanding enough, can people honestly tell me Marshall is commanding?
Take a look at this thread and tell me Marshall is better than average? You can't. I know stats aren't the be all and end all but this certainly backs up the eye test for me. The guy put Roos into the same first graph, but for Roos' all time championship stats, as he hasn't played enough games this season so his stats get massively swayed.

To be fair, whether he dropped it or not, I think we were second best in that game.
you could blame it Lampard not setting up right, but Villa were on fire at that time, and we were always the underdogs in that game.
maybe we could’ve held on for a win if he hadn’t have dropped it, and we’d got a bit of luck along the way. But we wouldn’t really have deserved it.
not like against QPR, where we were clearly the better team from start to finish. That one you can lay squarely at the feet of one individual mistake... (I’m obviously referring to not starting Bryson, stupid mcclaren).

What an excellent job Hasselbaink's doing. They've 7 out of his 9 games in charge, including the the last 4. Now out of the relegation zone with a 4 point cushion. They looked doomed when he took over.

You don't understand the current relationship between Scotish govt and the football authorities. Football is on its last warning after flouting covid restrictions all through the pandemic.
If cases spike in a months time, Glasgow goes into tier 4 and they won't be able to confirm to Uefa how many they will allow at Hampden. Uefa have already said the Hampden and Dublin games may be lost if certain assurances can't be made by mid April.
Apart from that, people haven't been able to visit family for the best part of a year and are trying to abide by the rules so that things can go back to normal. Incidents like this have the potential to lengthen the restrictions.

That’s amazing. So exciting. This is one of the things I’ll remember when my grandkids ask me about my experience of lock down (probably on a zoom call from Mars).

Sounds like people would have to be near it to make it safe, which sounds like not the place you want to be when it decides to spontaneously combust. But as much as you can gather tone through text, I guess from your tone that no one got hurt.

I’m very seriously considering upgrading my Peugeot 3008 to a new hybrid 3008 when it comes out in January.
we’re on a PCP scheme with Peugeot, so we pay monthly. We pay about £250-£300 a month on petrol. Before lockdown my wife would have to drive about 80 miles a day, and I’d have to do some long trips to Manchester. We were spending about £500 a month between us.
Electric motor has a range of about 40 miles, which is exactly what my wife needs to get to her new work and back.
so I figure, if it increases our monthly payment by £100-£150 we should be quids in.
we also have solar panels, batteries, and a leccy tarriff that pays us for using electricity during the night, which should reduce recharging costs to virtually zero.
thinking of investing in a fast charger too. That way I can finish work, get home at 5, stick it on to fast charge, and then it’s fully charged ready for her to get off to work at 7.
I did fancy a full electric for my next car, going hybrid feels a bit like being a vegetarian who still eats fish and chicken on special occasions. But I think a plug in hybrid is a good, sensible half way house til the infrastructure catches up.

    New cable.
With the grant, it should only cost about £500 for the charger and basic installation.
Depending on the location of your fuse box and meter, you may have to pay a tiny bit more. Mine are located in a cupboard in the middle of the house, so a cable had to be run underneath the floorboards up stairs, then down the side of the house. May have been about £25 extra.

So, if I’ve got my maths right, the 8th game of the 22/23 season will be our 5,000th league game, wow, that’s really something. Wonder if the marketing men will create a special souvenir shirt for that game...I’d buy one. ?

They both have 9 in a row I believe.  Rangers will have 54.5 titles after this season to Celtic's 51, but still 0 European Cups.  Stopping Celtic getting the 10 in the row this season is going to be sweet for Rangers though.
Neither club will ever match the great Dumbarton side of 1891 as far as I'm concerned.  ?

How could it be legit...they finished second on goal difference and then drew a play off.  If that's not a whopping great asterisk next to a title, then there is no such thing.
For me the extremists in the Green and Blue halves of Glasgow are equally unpleasant.

So Arsenal bribed their way into the old 1st Division.  And Man Utd only stayed up the previous season by fixing a match with Liverpool.
Clearly to undo this historical wrong the only fair thing to do is relegate Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool to League 1 next season. Obviously all those clubs League titles in the intervening years are now null and void.
Although let's not look too closely at the clubs who accepted those bribes from Arsenal, we have to draw the line somewhere!!
