What's wrong with taking the Everton job in 3, 5, 7 years time? Same as Lampard and Chelsea. The way the doors revolve in football these days, these opportunities will always be there. He needs a CV of relative successes before stepping up to a large Prem job. Where did patience dissappear to? He's still a very young manager learning his trade. He shouldn't be interested in any other role just yet.

Mel Morris, Steve Gibson, Rick Parry and Wayne Rooney are all multi-millionaires.
All are fans of their local clubs, all grew up supporting clubs where the vast majority of fans were ordinary people who want nothing more than to be able to traipse along to the club they love and support on a Saturday with like minded folk and cheer, moan, feel extreme highs and lows but whatever, still do it week after week, year after year.
Three of them made their money as businessmen, one made his as one of the best professional footballers of his generation.
One of them has more love of the game than the other three could ever imagine was possible. One understands the players, club employees and fans.
One has a sense of loyalty, a sense of what it truly means to be a football fan.
Wayne Rooney has more decency, loyalty, empathy and morality than the other 3 chancers put together.
Rooney will be remembered as a great player, possibly a great manager, and definitely a true football man who inspired several generations of football fans and players.
The other three will be remembered as corrupt, greedy chancers who betrayed the ordinary football supporter and tried to destroy a football club out of greed, spite, personal vendettas and cowardice.

Anyone who argues against us should be made to read that ( forest fans get someone to read it to them) and yet it still  doesn’t cover half of the punishments we have received, embargoes etc.

This is brilliant. A top football writer taking apart Middlesbrough and Wycombe's ludicrous claims brick by brick, and holding the EFL in utter contempt.

I'm with you. Still to be reliably proven how much he's lost personally by this. Just my opinion and fag packet maths but it's nowhere near 200 million.

It's correct that this is not solely dependant on the Boro and Wycombe issues, however we are unable to name a preferred bidder until that has been resolved, surely they can understand this?
They can say they need this information urgently, as well as proof of funding, although we need them to also make a decision on if Boro and Wycombe are football creditors urgently.
To me, this statement looks like another attempt to try and push the clubs to resolve it between themselves, knowing that if they make a decision it will anger either party, they appear to desperately want to avoid this for obvious reasons.

Yes. These definitely should be made public. I have emailed the EFL and requested they do so.

I think it's dangerous to concede anything to Boro & Wycombe - they have to be talked down by Government and the EFL. If we accept that their claims are in any way valid, that opens the door to other clubs who haven't contemplated making claims and expecting settlements, unless the EFL change the rules to outlaw clubs taking action against each other for such matters. The can of worms that would be opened for further action against other clubs could destroy the pyramid system.
All disciplinary matters should in future be the responsibility of a new regulator paid for by the EPL, since they're the ones with 90% of the TV money.

    Awww - Come on!!!

I can't sleep, can't eat, can't work, can't think of anything else, the wife and kids won't talk to me, the cat runs the other way, I've ran out of alcohol and chocolate.
Somebody - please - tell us the club is saved!

@RoyMac5 can I just say how grateful I, and so many others, are with the tweets, quotes and posts you put on here. Really does mean that this forum covers all bases. The constant stream of posts is vital at keeping us who don’t particularly use other platforms up to date.

Keep up the good work. Thanks.

If Couhig and Gibson are confident in the validity of their cases, they should publish the detail of their claims in the public arena. They've built their PR strategy on slandering DCFC and us, the fans, so it's time for them to poo or get off the pot.

Agreed. We won't hear from him again otherwise we'd have heard by now. We're on the brink. Totally spineless. We should never forget what he has done to this great club. A fan my arse.
I'm still not convinced that he's even lost that much of his own wealth either. If we get through this there should be a thorough enquiry to determine how much he actually 'lost' in all this. A few could be surprised.

Unfortunately we all ignored all the red flags, and stuck two fingers up at the rules and every other club.
Morris may well be the architect of the destruction of the Rams.
Forget any ideas of him riding in on a white horse to save the day. We were a vehicle for making money to him. That failed and he's hightailed into the sunset, with the ground as his last asset to try to salvage some of his losses with.
We fully deserve punishment for his actions. I hope we've suffered punishment enough with embargoes, points deductions and now the dismantling of the rump of a team, built on kids and pros in the last few seasons of their careers.
Plenty of things about football means I personally have to metaphorically hold my nose, and fans across the country do the same. It's easy to judge a team, an owner etc. based on non footballing criterion. I heard plenty of criticism of Newcastle and their new owners, and rightly so. Lots of people spoke in a similar fashion about Leicester and their previous administration period, and how local businesses suffered from their behaviour - again, rightly so.
Now it's our turn. And I can't defend it, just to hold my nose and pretend it doesn't stink.
And that's all because of Mel, and we cheered him while he took us to the cliff edge and pushed.
He ain't going to save us.
