The bloke runs one of the most profitable businesses in the country. From a financial point of view he is the best choice by a country mile. My biggest concern is the lack of investment in the infrastructure in the stadium, training facilities etc long term. Hopefully by then he would have sold the club for a profit.
Get him in I say. Newcastle fans still search for the glory days of Bobby Robson and King Kevin, Ashley was never going to invest to the point of losing money and getting into big debts. Newcastle had them champions league runs and were in around £80 million in debt, near financial ruin. Saved the club. Hopefully he'll do the same for us.

Given how poor the relegation rivals are, I think 45 points will be enough for safety this season. 10 wins from 22, a few more draws.
If we can bring in reinforcements I'd say 50%

Evening chaps and chapettes. Not quite sure where to put this but thought it might be nice for a bit of nostalgia.
Working on a new book (as you do, more to come shortly. This one actually has nice footballing times in it) and met up for a reminisce yesterday with the legendary Graham Richards and Colin Gibson.
Graham is still in fine form and still sounds as iconic as ever. He came down to meet me in a scooter at Stoke Train Station, warned me his memory might not be great and then proceeded to reminisce about games we've probably all forgotten. Colin, well Colin is just fantastic.

On the book, watch this space. I promise this next one will cover more enjoyable times than Pride.

Enjoyed watching this, not saying I agree with everything he says but I can understand his frustration because I feel there's alot of people who've just had enough.

Theoretically this form of corona should spread more quickly but also burn out more quickly than previous waves. This is both due to the vaccination and booster effort as well as it's quick spread. I'm much closer to being on the side of saying screw going into lockdown again, let's try to ride this out and loosen up the rules on self isolation to ensure things can keep functioning. The available evidence tells us hospitalisations and deaths are at a minimum with this variant and at this point I'm kind of sick of it. I want to be able to actually see my girlfriend who usually lives 300 miles away, I want to be able to see my friends who I've often been unable to make time for and actually do some enjoyable things after a tiring and stressful year.

My Christmas plans have gone down the pan as half of my family have COVID. Seems like the ones who didn't have it last winter have caught this time around.
I'm struggling to understand the reasoning behind potential lockdowns this time around. I completely understood last winter because we had no protection of this virus, the death toll was horrible and the hospitals were a mess. It was the right thing to do, as difficult as it was for my family and friends.
My reasons for having the vaccine weren't really for my own benefit but to protect the others around me who don't have the immune system to fight something like this. And now inevitably the unvaccinated are causing the problems, surprise surprise. Call me harsh, I have zero sympathy for these people who are in the hospital and haven't had a vaccine. They are the primary reason why we might have to go backwards towards not mixing households again. Take some responsibility for yourselves. This isn't some crazy conspiracy.
I feel like I've made sacrifices to give the scientists / government time to get this pandemic under control. Too many people are reading utter rubbish on the internet in their spare time and it's flooded their minds to make rash and irresponsible decisions. This was going to happen at some point and for the majority of people who've taken a vaccine, even if there weren't 100% behind it, they now have to suffer the consequences.
