tough. Take money for a season and get relegated and build back up. That was Norwich’s model for years. They don’t have a right to stay in the PL more than one season

Sore head today. Trying to digest the match, it was exactly how I thought it was going to be. 50/50 match. Okay, Bolton had more possession and looked more dangerous on the ball but ultimately they did not create anywhere near enough chances. Wildsmith with some unbelievable saves kept us in the game early on. Defensively our best game of the season. Nobody was getting past the back 3. They were collosal. Everybody got stuck in and threw their bodies on the line. It was an excellent display of discipline and solidity. We treated it like a cup final (that lovely clique) and we won.
4 points clear in 2nd. 5 wins out of the 7 remaining games should do it. We can afford to have a stinker of the match if for whatever reason the team have an off day. Looking at the remaining fixtures, this is a golden opportunity for the automatic spots. You never know, we might have the chance to celebrate our promotion on the final day. Have a great day out with no stress. After supporting Derby County for 30+ years, we might actually get over the line comfortably for a change!
I'm glad to see the supporters put aside their opinions on the manager and really drive the team along. Everyone can sense it, we are close to getting out of this pit of a division. We can debate about how Warne will tackle the Championship in the summer when we're bored silly, waiting for England to start their Euros campaign. I've moaned about him enough this season but I can bury my feelings about him and focus on the team getting the points in the bag.
Fingers crossed we can have a natural striker fit to get us to the end.

Never fall in love with a loan player they say. Ebou with another solid performance tonight, completely changed us for the better since he arrived.
What's he worth, what would Cardiff want for him and what could we afford to pay? I think we're in for a long summer thread again!

Tell me about it. Those blue noses pelted us in the South Stand with bottles, coins, ripped up seats and god knows what. Absolutely awful. Disgusting thugs. Many of them had no intention of watching the football. I'm all for a laugh and trading insults. Physically hurting people is definitely crossing the line. It's a shame because it will put off the club ever truly filling up the ground because of morons like them.

I have no doubts that Clowes and Warne are aligned and enjoy a good working relationship, but based on how frustrated the fans are with Warne on the whole that I do wonder whether there would be a significant commercial drop-off from fans IF we are to go into League One next year with Warne as manager. As soon as it's confirmed we aren't going up, I already know the reaction on here is going to be heavy on the Warne out content.
The thought of going into another League One season with Warne in the dugout does very little for me, especially ahead of such a significant rebuild. I would suggest it's just common sense to get someone in with a fresh mindset, personally. This season, despite the relative success, hasn't been enjoyable for a lot of people. The atmosphere around the club just isn't great.

Sheffield United are truly horrific, and their fans are a complete disgrace.
During THAT season I believe our fans were voted Player of the Season. Every game was a sell out, and bizarrely, the longer the season went on, and the more we fell behind the rest of the league, the better the support was at Pride Park. We took the piss out of ourselves, and every set of away fans that turned up. It seems some of our best times as fans have been when we face adversity. Strange bunch us Rams fans.
Last night Brammel Lane was half empty by half time. Tin pot club, with tin pot fans.

Last night unfortunately exposed all of Paul Warne's flaws as a manager. Even before Wildsmith's kamikaze moment, the lack of ball retention after going 1-0 up was appalling. Sunday morning rushing to get the ball forward which caused so many unforced errors. What has the manager got against keeping the ball for 10-15 minutes? I know it's dull and boring, we have got to be smarter in certain games. Charlton were a terrible team and we somehow gifted them a win.
Derby had most of the control in the first half. We got the goal, beautiful header by Cashin and another assist for NML. Came out in the 2nd half and kept giving the ball away by forcing it forward. Charlton's press was very aggressive in the 2nd half. Instead of playing it around Charlton and exposing them, we kept pumping the ball forward. In a game where patience and calm was required, we absolutely fell apart.
Making our lives more difficult sums up this season. Even though we've been accumulating a really healthy points total, it has been a proper slog to get points on the board. I hope this is just a small blip and we will get back to form on Saturday!

This is my biggest bugbear about Warne's management.  He can't resist the urge to tinker every game.
Pick a settled formation - and play it.
Pick a settled team and subject to injuries, play it. When you need to, substitute like for like.
And don't just take off your midfield and throw all your forwards on when you're chasing a win.
The players look lost at times. Sometimes they are playing two or three formations/positions in the same game. Their instinct and trust for linking play are completely nullified in that situation.

Nobody is asking for total football, but we're getting the worst brand of football I've seen at Derby. It's crap. There is no entertainment. We aren't bringing through youth, we are building towards a style and getting better, we're all over the place.
Being second is not a compliment to Warne, and more a criticism to every other side. We're not a good team.

I like Warne as a person, can see why he was hired and why Clowes likes working with him.
All that said and done, I don’t think he’s right for the club. He simply has to get promoted this season, because the relationship with the fans won’t last another year in league one and commercially the fans are the lifeblood of the club at this level.

Ironically, my fear is promotion with him in the role is equally as bleak as I don’t have the faith that we have the competency within the club to rise above our financial station. Clowes hasn’t got financial muscle to have us do anything other than treading water in the Championship. The foundations of this club, post-administration, has been unfortunately built on sand. Restrictions has made it difficult, obviously I take that into account, but there is no real philosophy other than to ride the coattails of journeymen Championship footballers, mostly on the downswing of their career, to overpower the dross standard that we found ourselves in.
