As much as the football the last couple of weeks has been hideous, the squad is still outperforming compared to my expectations. I was hoping for a top half finish and we'll comfortably manage that fingers crossed.
What's killed our points total is mainly against the top half teams, particularly away from home. I think if Warne wants to play this high tempo Klopp style football, the squad needs overhauling again in the summer. The defence was our foundation when we was on the unbeaten run, however too much tinkering at the back has disrupted the cohesion and we are conceding silly goals.
In a strange way, the more we try to play Paul Warne football, the worse the team looks across the pitch. When he compromised and slightly changed the attacking style, we looked as dangerous as any of the top 6. Now we look all over the place. The idea of pumping tonnes crosses in is poor, considering we have no aerial threat in the team. This team have played best on the counter attack and playing in-between the lines. Whether that's down to a style change or fatigue, we can't seem to get going. I think it's more fatigue and the manager not freshing the team. The constant pressing and lack of rotation in the easier games has cost us, especially at home.

The national newspapers have got their priorities right again I see. Gary Lineker plastered all over the front pages. Yet there's nowhere near enough pressure and scrutiny from the powers at the media hierarchy about the new immigration policy, which needs far more attention than a BBC presenter.
I'm not his biggest fan, and I definitely don't agree with many of Gary Lineker's opinions. The BBC allowed their presenters to openly criticise Qatar for their human rights problems without any ramifications. Yet because he has questioned his own country's policy on this new immigration law, they've taken him off air until he says sorry. We're quiet happy to allow the berating of other countries, yet if the UK then it's all opinions nailed onto the fence.
I love the idea of the BBC and how they take pride in promoting local issues. Local people still need their voices to be heard. It is a horrible organisation at board room level. They talk about impartial coverage yet they've got 2 board members who are deep in the heart of Conservative politics. How do they expect their presenters to keep the own political opinions to themselves, yet the top of the tree has clear bias towards a certain party.
Good on the other BBC pundits to stand with their friend and colleague.

I don't really understand what a lot of these changes are for. Well, I do. It is in the hope that the books can still sell by the millions and stand no chance of offending anyone. We are sanitising above and beyond what is sane.
I read my 3 year old the Funnybones pet shop book the other week. Throughout that book the parrot throws out insults, "big bum, baldy, four eyes" and such. My son thought these were hilarious. But he also knows it isn't nice to go around insulting people.
And when the time comes and we read the Dahl stories,in their original form, I am of no doubt he would also find it hilarious. But he would easily understand that some of that is not kind to say.
There is a thread in the football side of this forum about swearing in a family stand. The common sense answer seems to be, you can't stop it, but you can explain and teach children that the language they may hear isn't appropriate and not to be repeated.
How many children of an age that could read these stories are gaming online with strangers and encounting completely unfiltered conversations. How many play games such as Call of Duty or GTA? How many listen to music that is far more offensive than Dahl could ever be.
On the most part, children love the gruesome stories, they love the descriptions. Most today are influenced by youtubers or other online people, not stories from books, so I am sure making stories even more safe and sterile is going to change that...

Agree entirely, its a wonderful show - a mixture of Clarksons humour, knowledgeable if (unintelligible at times ?) locals and some quite in depth info on the state of farming/bureaucracy atm.
It was really quite sad to see the council, who have an obvious agenda against Clarkson turn everything down - even the dirt track on his own land that will help keep his tractors off the main roads ? especially as he'd agreed to help out all the other local farmers who are financially on their knees buying their produce for his restaurant.
I hope they watch the documentary (doubt it) and see just how vital it would be to the local community, not just the 50 or so jobs he said it would create but in keeping the countryside how they like it - if the farmers are forced out of business, who knows what the land will be used for.
    Roll on season 3?

Started it last night with the Mrs, we stayed up until 4am to finish and couldn’t disagree with the above more.
It’s simply the best show on TV and season 2 was just as good as the first, if not better. Clarkson has also confirmed on Twitter in a reply to someone that they are in the middle of filming the next season. Can’t wait.
Not only is it entertaining, but educational, shows the current state of farming in this country and how red tape and ahem….Brexit….is screwing them over.
All EU subsidies gone, one farmer losing 60 cows through TB when they are £1500/£2000 a pop, one couple with a backlog of pigs and huge increase in feed costs, really is scary times for the farming industry and it’s something I would be totally unaware of to be honest had it not been for this show.
It’s pretty clear the District council don’t like Clarkson and want to shut the whole thing down, turning to the barrister in the Council meeting and telling him he needs to learn how to spell having also brought it up in his statement was hilarious.
Caleb, again to go against the above is clearly a local lad that all he knows his farming, that is his whole world, this isn’t an act or for a script, genuinely feels like he’s just being himself, someone that’s been thrust into the celebrity world and trying to adapt the best he can.
G Dog, well what can I say, he will always have me in stitches when he opens his mouth, he’s got to be hammered on the cider every day, he’s in another world.

Man City generate far too much in revenue for the Premier League to expell them down to the EFL. They need to think of their shareholders.... ?
Transfer ban, points deducted or a fine won't touch a team like Man City with all their resources.
For the sake of fairness they should have the Juventus treatment and drop down a couple of divisions. They shouldn't be getting away with this level of cheating. But it won't happen as the Premier League haven't got the bottle. The only way I can see any serious action taking place is if the other teams in their league (de ja vu) join together to complain to the authorities that this is cheating.
The Premier League couldn't care less about fairness. They'd keep the 20 teams, franchise it all and stop relegations if they could.

It was a rubbish football match but I'm glad Dobbin finally got his first league goal. Best moment was him celebrating with the coaches, I think that tells everyone the strong relationship with the staff and players.
The defensive performances have been remarkable. The biggest praise I can give PW is how consistent he's made a back four of misfits become so solid and rarely looks to be in trouble. Going forward I still feel we're relying on a piece of quality from a forward player to get a goal, Collins looked shattered and needs a break.
