    Why?
He said it's his "dream" to take us EVENTUALLY to a champions league place. Why shouldn't he have big aspersions of getting his club as high as possible?.
He's already said he'll build a squad to gain promotion so what the team are doing now will have no influence on the squad that hopefully moves us forward.
Do you really think we'll start next season with Ckr upfront? because i don't.
And don't say it can't be done, Look at Leicester.

As long as we only use Nick De Marco when it come to English Football Law then I'll happy.
I'll be happier still if we don't need him again.

That's assuming they win their game in hand.
If we win just 1 of our final 5 games (which is a reasonable expectstion), Weds will need 11 points from their final 6 games just to take it to GD. It's extremely unlikely that they move above us.

I don’t think the situation has changed that much for us.
Win v Birmingham and Wednesday and we’ll be fine.

Thanks for doing the research that I was too lazy to do, and proving that it's a myth in the process.
And thanks for the info re the Big Six. Regardless of financials though, I still think there's a huge opportunity for clubs like Leicester to take advantage of the big clubs being thick in their approach.

Duration promoted clubs spent in PL based on year they were promoted:
    00/01 - 13, 11, 11
    01/02 - 18*, 4, 1
    02/03 - 7, 1, 1
    03/04 - 2, 1, 1
    04/05 - 8, 6, 1
    05/06 - 2, 1, 1
    06/07 - 10, 1, 1
    07/08 -10, 2, 1
    08/09 - 3, 2, 1
    09/10 - 8, 6, 1
    10/11 - 7, 3, 2
    11/12 - 9*, 9*, 1
    12/13 - 8*, 2, 1
    13/14 - 7*, 1, 1
    14/15 - 5, 5, 1
    15/16 - 4, 1, 1
    16/17 - 4*, 4*, 2
    17/18 - 3*, 1, 1
    18/19 - 2*, 2*, 1
    19/20 - 1*, 1*, 1*
    * = Still in PL
They either stay up for a good 10 years, or go straight back down (1 or 2 years). Same pattern over the past 10 years. Typically, it's the bigger clubs (those with more income) who survive the longest - Newcastle, West Ham, Villa. Whereas it's the smaller clubs who go straight back down - Sheff United, Blackpool, Hull, Cardiff, etc... Hardly surprising news that a club with more money has a better chance of survival.
As I've mentioned in other threads in the past, in season 1, our budget would be on par with Palace, Norwich, Watford. Our revenue would exceed that of West Brom, Burnley, Sheff United, and Fulham.
In year 2 or 3, once we start earning more through sponsors, we would make the small jump up to being on par with the likes of Southampton.
Financially, breaking into the top 6 is an almost impossible task at this point. Leicester (soon to be 3 top 6 finishes in the last 6 years) aren't even half way to reaching that point. It would take a couple of years in Europe for us to join the 'next 6' of Leeds, Wolves, Leicester, Newcastle, Everton and West Ham.

Football club ownership is a lose/lose situation, doesn’t matter what they do, you’ve done it wrong.
They will be asked to sit in the corner, be quiet, just sign the cheques, but wait, why are they so quiet, we demand answers.
Cut back spending, be sensible, wait a minute we still want that £10m striker and £5m defender, and a £8m keeper....oh and don’t forget that £7m midfielder....but don’t you dare take us close to that FFP limit, no football club should be losing money.
Bored now, we need a new owner, anyone just get rid...wait not him, we don’t want him Jesus, but get rid asap.
Hold on, why’s this guy wanting to buy a second tier football club, I smell something fishy, what’s his intentions, why us, why not one of those football clubs that actually make money like erm...errrrrm....
Honestly, I could be the richest man in the world, sat in trillions in the bank account and I would never touch a football club, even Derby.
I could turn us into the next Man City and some would still have something to complain about, winning leagues, competing in Europe but yeah that David bloke what a @#%! for killing the atmosphere and turning us into a tourist fan club, all those fake fans over in Asia. I want to see us lose games, can’t remember the last time I saw us get a classic Derby tonking.
Now imagine football clubs owned by football fans, oh my, a group of Newcastle fans are looking to buy a stake in their club. Can already see the fall out there, desperate to get rid of Ashley they donate all they can, then Ant and Dec disagree over firing the manager, Cheryl Cole storms off wanting her £5.68 back as she thought one of the fans would be appointed manager.
Would not touch with a barge pole.

Isn't that just describing what the EFL process is for taking over a club?
Ie, when they get a proposal, their standard questions start with....
    1. Where's the money coming from?
I suppose a headline such as "efl subjecting Erik Alonso to standard due diligence process with no additional questions whatsoever" is a bit dull tbf ?

Bull poo. All matchday revenue goes to the club. The only grey area is money generated on non-match days due to hiring of rooms for conferences, etc...
There is absolutely no way Mel would put everything he possibly could to keep us right up against the P&S limit to then cut our spending power by over £10m per season.

People who tailgate and flash as you're over taking someone.
People who drive slowly but then speed up as you're overtaking them.

They say any player aged over 18 and playing in a 'top 5 league' is almost guaranteed a work permit (England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy).
15 points are required to pass the points based system, although a regular player in a top 50 FIFA World Ranking national team automatically gets a pass - Costa Rica, Ghana, Egypt, Romania, Iran, just to name a few. A player to have have in just 1 game for a top 10 country (currently Denmark and Uruguay) gets 8 points
If ranked below 50, they have to be a regular to get just 2 points
Points are also awarded based on minutes played in domestic leagues and more still based on where they finish in the table.
Players get additional points for playing in continental club competitions and extra for progressing further in the competition.
Take Serdar Dursun as an example.
    International appearances = 0 points
    Continental competition = 0 points
    Domestic league = Bundesliga 2 (band 4) = 6 points
    Domestic league minutes = 2099/2430 minutes = 86% = 5 points
    Domestic finishing position = 12th (current) = 0 points
Total = 11 points = no work permit

Turns out any player we look to sign gets an automatic 10 points. This table shows points based on the buying club, whereas I initially thought it meant where the player is being bought from. The English Championship is Band 2 (10 points). This means Dursun would be granted a work permit.

Another example. Agustín Oliveros, a 22 year old CB who has made 1 app for Uruguay.
International appearances = 1/4 in the last year = 10 points
    Continental Competition = 0 points
Domestic League = Uruguayan Primera División (Band 5) = 4 points
    Domestic Minutes = 1125/1350 (83%) = 3 points
    Domestic Position = 4th (current) = 0 points
Total = 17 points = Work permit granted
