Rebus (2024)
Never watched the original few series..... and as I've said before I'm dubious of domestic series such as Happy Valley/Line of Duty/Bodyguard that people rave about.
Actually really impressed. Gritty, good dialogue, well acted... just very watchable in a Sweeney type, 'police aren't all black and white good/bad' kinda way.
I had to try to ignore that I'd read the books but still found myself thinking, 'He wouldn't do that' and, 'there's no way he would say that'.
I was a bit irritated by it overall.

We were chatting with our daughter in our bedroom one night when she saw a mouse run across the room and into her bedroom. They locked me in her room with a broom, whilst I thought "what the hell am I going to do with this?". Anyway, suddenly the mouse ran in front of me and quick as a flash I swung the broom like an axe hitting the mouse squarely in the back. I knew that binge watching Vikings would come in useful.
Unfortunately, the mouse had been binge watching Tom and Jerry and smacked you in the face with a frying pan before polishing off the contents of the fridge.

LOST.
Hated it so much it has put me off watching so many series since out of fear that they’ll end up crap as well.
Now I often don’t start watching something until after it’s finished.I came on here to say 'Lost'. The yardstick by which all other disappointing endings must be judged. Still annoyed I wasted so much time on something we all worked out in the first 5 minutes

The Championship will be fun next season.
There are question marks over every team coming down. Will Luton be able to keep Edwards? Will Burnley be the same without Kompany? Will Sheff Utd be able to regroup quickly after such an emphatic relegation?
Then you look at the teams who missed out in the play-offs. Norwich will need a new manager and both Leeds and WBA will be rebuilding their squads. A team in the chasing pack like Coventry or Hull may also be thinking it could be their chance to make a push.
It looks wide open. I am not sure why everyone is so fearful.
They can have ours

Leeds will blow the Championship away next season with Farke in charge.
Both Southampton and Leeds are currently better than the 3 that came down.
And the 3 that came down will lose some of their better players. In Burnley’s case, their manager.
Leeds and Southampton will probably be swapping places in 12 months time.
Just enjoy the moment

Spot on Bris, Even in the 1st half united had 2 banks of 5 defending what they had, A miserable Cup final...imo, City are/were so used to having the game and game plan go their way that teams were beaten before they turned up, 1st goal a c*** up, 2nd goal well worked, That Mainoo kid if he progresses is going to be some player.
Pep has admitted he got the 1st half wrong, But giving a team a 2 goal lead at which they can defend with ease, Pack the 18 yard area, Have a wall in front and it becomes very difficult, City's goal was courtesy of Nana.
The great Alan Shearer 🙄 in the media this morning...where has this united been all season...I'll tell ya...floundering in the middle on the EPL.
Nope City were bang average and united took advantage of this 👍
I enjoyed it

Atlas.
Jennifer Lopez Sci fi thing.
You can spot the, er, 'influences' - Aliens, Avatar, Blade Runner etc. and there's a bit of Bond villain about the antagonist (I think he even says, 'I've been expecting you,' at one point). But it provided enough diversion more or less.
Wanted it to be better.

But in the interest of balance Stones has looked better 2nd half moved across. Just did a decent interception to snuff out a dangerous pass towards Fernandez.
So fair's fair.
His shooting wasn't very good just now😃

Too slow and ponderous. But so are all of City.
Didn't track or spot the danger for the 2nd.
Oh, I see, you are prescient. You knew after a quarter of an hour that the second goal would happen.
Stones wasn't at fault for the second. You're probably getting him mixed upo with a player you like.

FA cup final and no Harry Maguire for Man Utd. Stones not looking great. England will probably be relying on Walker a bit in defence...
Stones has looked fine. Virtually nothing has happened.

What I will say about Rooney is that he is amazingly driven. He must really want to be a manager to keep stepping down like this.
It would have been much easier to do what Neville did after Valencia. Live off your reputation as a player and keep taking Sky's money.
But no, he is determined to pick himself up and try again and again.
That, I can respect.
He's got further to step down before he finds his level

I know I have paid absolutely no attention to the top division for a couple of years, but I can honestly say that I have never heard of 10 of the players in the provisional squad and don’t think I could pick several more out of a line up…

I bet Graham Potter thought it was a good idea to move to Chelsea. McKenna should think very carefully about taking the leap up to one of the struggling "elite" clubs.
I imagine Potter is still being paid by Chelsea. There was nothing bad about the idea of moving to Chelsea.

Manchester City are just boring.
The players are like machines. They function well but I don't want to watch them.

Leeds v Norwich is the most one-sided playoff game since Derby v Brighton.
There is a big gap between these two. Makes Ipswich’s success all the more impressive.
Assuming it will be Leeds vs Southampton, I can’t think of a stronger playoff final.
Some contrast to last year’s final.
My thought exactly

Looking at her my first thought was that she normally performed in ‘specialist’ films….
The whole thing has the feel of a student or school film - but I suspect that students would be embarrassed to produce such poor quality.
I looked her up. Turns out she's the wife of the writer / producer of the film.
