  1. His family never moved out of the local area, he visits quite regularly and dines out in Higham and Shirland. Like Allsop said in a interview, he joined Derby to be near home in Birmingham after being away so long. Flint may just see this as a nice return home after a decade away.

I fully expect us to go for someone like Tom Eaves. Tall. Target man. Just released. Decent at league 1 level, but not prolific above. Realistic wages. Not a world beater or a name that will get many excited, but will do a job we need.

Was absolutely fantastic at Gillingham. Big strong target man with a bit of pace too. Was a twenty goal a season striker in league one for Gillingham.

    No red

How about that lovely pink kit again? A compromise between red and white. Also a lot of people were sad to miss out on it due to the limited edition of the kit. I'd be very keen to see another charity kit back again in aid of whatever other charities Morris didn't pay.

Think we may need to lower our sights a little as he will want big wages

He was widely reported to be earning "just" £1000 a week at Reading due to their own FFP problems. He's made the big bucks elsewhere and has just been released by a Championship team. Going to Reading for what he did, tells me he just wants the chance to play football regularly again following all his injuries. 1 year contract with an extension option, low wages yet financially incentivised for performance. No brainer if it's something Rooney can pull off.

    I like him.

    Is Andy Carrol available?

He's been released by West Brom. Between them and Reading, he was excellent, proving himself a real handful and scored some stunning goals. 5 goals in 17 starts of which 15 were full 90 minutes. For a free transfer, he'd be the perfect physical presence upfront that we need.

Not unless he just given money to mel so it can be done and dusted.

Kirchner says he's exchanged contracts which "are conditional on the sale of the stadium and some small bits". Here's hoping it's just crossing the t's and dotting the i's but I'm still cautious. Seems like major progress but it isn't quite fully done yet.

    Is that for standing still?

This is just for the football club business, add another £200k spread across the academy, stadia, Club DCFC, Sevco and Gellaw businesses. Then add up all the expenses, nearly £34k on accommodation for example just for the football club business. In other Sevco business they're even claiming 85p on a stamp and 50p on stationary.

I have a feeling it will be a lot more than £100 an hour

There was a bill estimate in the last statement of affairs or whatever it's called on companies house. If I recall correctly it was £350 an hour for junior administrators, £450 for administrators and £650 a hour for senior administrators. Expenses claimed for travel, accommodation, food, stationary, vehicles, even down to the £3 meal deals.

  9. After 37 years service, Steve Nicholson finishes his reporting of Derby. No matter what you think of his articles now during the click bait world of the Derby Live website, he's been an absolutely outstanding linchpin to Derby media over the years. Before the social media world he, along with RD, were the number one source for all things Derby. I wish Steve all the best with whatever he does now, wherever it's retirement or somewhere new without the pressures of clickbait and online adverts. Thank you for all your hard work over 37 years Steve!

What's he done anywhere else since leaving Derby? Did he make the step up to the Prem with Huddersfield and show that he truly was too good for the championship? Was he up for the fight at Stoke? Did he light it up on loan at Luton?

We made money on him, yes, and more fool the idiots who paid it expecting him to replicate his form here.

Battled it out at Reading? Hardly a battle for them really, they always had too much quality to go down once they had a few players back from injury. He scored a handful of goals with Daddy managing him. I imagine both Ince's will be there next season tbf, so the discussion on bringing him back here is moot.

You can't always judge how good a player is or isn't by their time at Derby, take Andreas Weimann for example who plenty of people thought was terrible

141 appearances, 43 goals and 21 assists for Bristol City, whilst playing all over the shop

I was using statistics as a quantifiable explanation to B4 why Ince's demeanour from one game shouldn't be the thing that stops any transfer to Derby. This applies to any player, past, present or future.

A drop in level could work brilliantly for Ince, look at McGeady at Sunderland. Now 36 years old, in the last 4 seasons in league one he's scored 22 goals, got 25 assists in 92 games. Any skillful player at this level should by all means stand out.

Well I dont see what rammage black young player only match of day person says same thing about young white players should that she be claimed for being racist towards white players.

Ramage racially identified and used prejudicial language to generalise that all the black players we had didn't work hard enough or behave in a way that one should, i.e. how a white player would behave. He could've moaned and slagged off players for lack of effort and professionalism without bringing their race into the picture. It's absolutely abhorrent and not something the BBC should be airing.

    Quote

Speaking on BBC Radio Derby’s Sportscene programme following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, Ramage, 49, said: “When I look over and look at certain players, their body language, their stance, the way they act, you just feel, hold on a minute, he needs pulling down a peg or two.

“So I’d probably say that about all the young black lads, all the young advice if they wanted it, that, you know, it’s about, when you are struggling for form, you are going through a sticky patch, it’s about going back to basics, working hard, and doing the right things.”

I'm not 100% sure but I think CK's plane is at EMA. Looks like the one that was here last week. Maybe his legal team are over.

It isn't. He left EMA on the 9th, did a couple of circles around Dubai before onwards to Don Mueang International on the top side of Bangkok. The plane hasn't left there that airport since. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ac6ab6&lat=30.069&lon=27.272&zoom=4.0&showTrace=2022-05-09

That's why I dont want tom ince back at derby.

So despite scoring 38 goals and making 17 assists in 114 games, thus making a 0.5 goal contribution per game, he's not welcome back as he let the bigger boys do the physical fighting for him? He was one of the very few we actually made money on during the Morris years of mad spending. We need all the goals, assists and creativity we can in this team for next season - he's shown he can battle it out when on loan at Reading. If he was willing to come for whatever little we can offer players, I'd definitely take him.

Any of the released Stoke players would be decent options (wages allowing) if Rooney is looking to add a bit of experience.

    Tommy Smith

    James Chester

    Tom Ince ?

    Steven Fletcher

I'd definitely take Fletcher as a experienced head up top, might not score a lot but could turn out like Vokes for Wycombe with the drop down doing him wonders. If not, a battling bruiser up top to knock it down to the likes of Malcolm and co to do their magic. Wouldn't really be against any off that list really depending on the wages obviously.

Well said. Ed is passionate about out club and I like how that comes across on the radio.

I think Colin Gibson Will step up to take CC's spot personally though.

Gibbo will most certainly take caretaker charge in the interim. RD have the best part of 8-12 weeks to find a replacement. No doubt the RD bosses would've been aware of Coles' intentions for numerous months since they let him on trial to the other stations. RD seem to be the perfect breeding ground for football reporters, we've had Ross Fletcher, Owen Bradley and now Chris Coles go off to bigger and better things. Most surely Colin Bloomfield would've jumped up the ranks in a parallel universe.

Whichever young shoot RD hire, they always seem to get it spot on so lets welcome the new person with open arms. Sure it'll be big shoes to fill again, but I'm sure we'll come to appreciate their broadcasting talents. Unless it's that awful commentator that RamsTV had at the start who knew nothing about the club, before being quickly dispatched and Owen Bradley replacing him.

  16. A massive loss to RD for sure but Coles had very much outgrown local radio levels. Any of the podcast lot fancy a step up? Blake Fallows, The Steve Bloomers Washing lot or similar. Assume Colin Gibson will takeover as caretaker for awhile, Dave Fletcher has the cricket and Burton full time.

Falling apart like Derby County? (Sorry, couldn't resist it!)

It's only just come back into use following a previous incident last month, I know nothing about planes bar going on holiday - perhaps certain maintenance checks are needed for a set time after a incident? Or just needs a general service? No idea. It's safe in a hangar nevertheless.

"The aircraft was taxiing to the ramp when it veered off the taxiway. No injuries, No damage.
It has been reported that the aircraft was directed to use a taxiway that was unsuitable for the aircraft's size and weight."

Checked all three aprons no sign, unless it’s in a private hangar.

The plane went straight into a maintenance hangar yesterday, I'm told that by a couple of friends who work in the department at EMA.

    3. Kion Etete (ST), Northampton Town

19-year-old Etete is on loan at The Cobblers from Premier League side Spurs. The 6ft 4in striker has scored with regularity for the Londoner’s youth sides and has two goals in nine appearances for Northampton.

Bring him home, this lad is from Chellaston. Though he hasn't been at all prolific, 3 in 13 for Cheltenham in league one and 3 in 18 for Northampton in league two this season. Still he's young, good size and more physicality than Bart. One year left on his contract at Tottenham, I'd expect they'd take a low offer to move him on. 21 in November, they'd be expecting more from him by now if he was going to be a premier league player.
