Don’t mind that we got relegated ‘cos the players clapped the fans; that’s what’s important!

Last night I witnessed bullying and intimidation of staff at Barnsley and of our own fans from some of our so called supporters before and during the game.
I also saw a lot of fans coming and going and paying very little attention to the actual football.
That walk back to the dressing room there is like the walk of shame past the away end so I am not surprised some of the players scuttled past as quick as they could.
Of course by then most of those sort of fans had buggered off, leaving the ones who do usually stay behind to applaud feeling a bit short changed.
Call out the players If you like, but don't pretend our fans were all heroes who gave 100% in support of the team because that's far from the truth.

Losing two games on the trot nowadays is end of the world stuff in any league. Whether you have a budget like Man United or in admin like Derby. Its relentless, two losses and its all over for modern fans.

If so, shall we move onto the next game?
We are all disappointed in the last couple of games, but having read about sacking Rooney, players not caring, players giving up, our recruitment is awful, we are definitely down  even down without a points reduction in the last 24 hours, it's time to regroup and be realistic.
Rooney wasn't the best manager in the Championship 4 games ago and he isn't the worst now. What we do have is a thin squad mainly made up of veterans and youngsters. We started yesterday's game with half of our outfield players aged 34 to 39. With the new manager bounce they played a high tempo and we got overrun. We look tired and are ready for the international break.
Are we going down? We are certainly up against it. There are so many variables, admin points appeals, ffp appeals and takeovers and that's before we get to what happens on the pitch. I think the players are giving their all and until the Blackburn game, so were the fans. These are trying times and we need to stick together and stay optimistic. We need to still be in the fight when the New Year comes. By then we should know more about points deductions, new owners and transfer capabilities.
If we get deducted 21 points, there is little hope, but we can't give up yet. Every point is vital and every fans support is too. I hope that our fans recent negativity doesn't transmit to the games. so let's all dust ourselves down and keep supporting our great club as best we can.
I don't know if we can manage this great escape but if we do, it will take the collective will of all of us.

While I might have my doubts about whether or not we’re going to win the appeal, I find it quite odd and interesting how many of our own fans on here are actively arguing that either we shouldn’t have appealed or don’t ‘deserve’ to win the appeal… I mean, it’s one thing to think we’re on dodgy ground, it’s quite another to be implying through the vehemency of their arguments that they hope we don’t win.
I assume it’s some kind of reverse psychology or defence mechanism for when/if we don’t win it’s not as painful or disappointing?
Anyway, you don’t get anything without asking and if there’s any glimmer of a chance that we can get the points deduction reduced, then surely you’re going to take the opportunity to try it. There is very little to lose and quite a lot to gain (particularly given recent performances suggest my early optimism of overturning the deficit and pushing on is waning a bit).

@Big Trav if you were looking for token love and appreciation you should have spent your money in Barnsley going to a brothel.
For what worth, I think this set of players do genuinely care about the club and performance. They are just not very good. In my view we currently only have 5 proper footballers. The two centre backs and our big No. 9 are, however, all some 5 years or more past their prime, Morrison is an enigma, and Bird is only 20/21. I have hopes Knight might make a footballer too, but he does need to work on his quality.
To turn on our players now is a travesty Trav. Get behind them. They are not very good, but they are what we have. If you want to be irked, focus your thoughts on the bloke who left us in this complete mess.

And being very large businesses would they be expected to have much larger financial reserves anyway? But in any case what that has to do with Derby having to close the stadium for 18 months I don’t know. How were Derby supposed to stop that happening? It’s a very silly argument.
as far as the 12 point deduction is concerned it’s probably not relevant anyway we will be relegated anyway most likely.

but I just don’t accept the argument that Derby’s problems are all self inflicted .. especially if those arguments are coming from people who are Rams fans .

Does Rooney have a quality team to work with.
Has Rooney had significant investment made available for spending in January.
Have the auditors guaranteed that potential investors have one week to get their bids on the table for Derbys sale.
Do new managers sometimes get lucky breaks, as in my opinion happened at Barnsley.
Did Mel Morris sell of Derbys best players weakening the team, to where they were easy to beat because they are made of youngsters and old men.
Does Derby have one of the oldest defences in the league.
Does Derby have a quality regularly scoring striker.
Does Derby have a talented and ball winning Midfield.
Even given that scenario, has Rooney got the club at least drawing the majority of the games this season.
Remember without the 12 point deduction, the club would be almost mid table and that's given all these things which are out of Rooneys hands.
Remember most quality managers would not want to be Derbys manager, under these circumstances and with the club at the foot of the table.
Remember Rooneys worth millions, he could easily walk away, but he's chosen to fight for Derby.
If the fans stop supporting the manager and players due to circumstances, that demoralises them. Under those circumstances how can they perform at their best.

Really? I (and others, I think) was predicting a relegation dogfight with or without a points deduction this season precisely because of the players we have (or, more to the point, the players we don’t have). We have a fairly decent starting 11 on paper, but the squad is paper thin and can’t cope with any fitness issues (inc. the age of some of our players in key positions) or loss of form. Reality is biting a bit I’m afraid and those plucky draws where we had a decent shout of winning are coming to haunt us.
