Never mind. When we get out of League One (and we will, however long it takes) it will be all the sweeter. I'd rather we had a club and it be in L1 than no club at all.
Pack out the away ends of every ground in the league next season, enjoy some new away days and take each game as it comes.
This is what real football is about.

I'll take a consistent run on 3pm Saturday games, with no international breaks. It's not going to feel glamorous, far from it, but it is what you make it. The possibility of new away grounds is exciting to me. I'm genuinely looking forward to a bit of a change.
Football is football at the end of the day. We've been a low scoring, largely dull side under a transfer embargo for the past two seasons. I couldn't care less about being one step further from a division I haven't seen since I was a teenager. If all I was interested in was the Premier League, I'd travel 30 minutes in the other direction and watch Leicester.

It could be worse. Imagine if we had got relegated on the last day of last season. We'd be looking at Div II.

I'm sure the wrist slashes are out in force tonight but it's been obvious for a while now.... We need a total reset.
First and foremost - let's stay in business. Number one priority - get a new owner and as soon as possible.
Points deductions.... The squad is so poor, we'd struggle to avoid relegation even without a points deduction. That could be offset slightly by Bielik's return and acquisitions of forwards in January but, by then, it may be too late anyway.
So let's accept whatever points deductions the EFL want to throw at us, on condition that they're imposed this season. Then it's over and done with.
Assuming then that we're going down, let's start building for next season in League One.
That means blooding the youngsters that will still be with the club. Not playing each one in every game, not leaving out all the old pros. But giving each young'un experience alongside a mentor. For example Cashin playing with either Davies or Jagielka.
Assuming Bird, Knight and Bielik will go, playing Watson alongside Shinnie and Morrison. That kind of thing.
Rooney has been really dignified throughout these nightmare months but the jury is still out for him tactics wise. After the last couple of games, there are question marks against his motivational ability too. I wonder what Curtis was referring to regards the training sessions.
But anyhow, Rooney is the magnet for investors and deserves "a go" with a clean slate.
So let's put the bad stuff behind us, and start building this club up again. Even if it means losing the current crop of good young players and starting in League One.
One thing for sure, the support is fantastic. The fans deserve a club going forward, not sinking further into the mire. Let's get the crap out of the way. Move on up. COYR ?

Went to the game tonight. Fans were in good voice for the most part but became pretty frustrated in the second half. This was my first away trip since Hull but I've been to every home game so far.
Weird performance first half, started absolutely terribly and could have been two nil down but for some good saves by Roos. Took the lead with a decent goal and looked in no real danger up until they scored, though we weren't really threatening ourselves. Forsyth was rightly hooked at HT, at fault for the goal and struggled to do just about anything right. Our attacking threat was lacking largely IMO due to a lack of cohesion between strikers, midfield and fullbacks. This was also a large problem for Byrne defensively as Baldock was basically playing as a right winger but wasn't closing space or following runners.
Second half was near total rubbish unless you love seeing the ball played sideways with no urgency. Terrible free kick conceded by Buchanan who held on to the ball forever and dragged their man down after he was dispossessed. I might be wrong on this but to me it looked like he dropped deeper than the rest of the defensive line and played their player onside, before the ball was played over for their goal. How the guy was totally free though was ridiculously poor. We then proceeded to do nothing until Ebosele came on and took their defenders on. The only players even looking half alert were Bird and Knight before that. Aside from the obvious slow build up to nothing, it was painful how little movement there was from players to actually receive the ball. We play sideways so often because barely anyone moves to give the man on the ball a different option. Buchanan had to score at the end IMO, totally free header. I was delighted to see him come on, mostly because Forsyth was so bad, hindsight says I should not have got my hopes up.
Overall it was pretty rubbish. Barnsley were not particularly good, definitely better than Hull were but about on par with Forest under Hughton in the draw at home. Our problem is that we deserved to lose tonight. This paper thin squad is definitely being exposed now, we simply don't have the quality to consistently create and finish chances and our once reliable defence is creaking under the pressure manufactured by the inadequacies of those ahead of them. At this rate I'll have to get my abacus out for our games after the international break.

There is a possibility Derby could be liquidated, it will not happen though. Derby may be in a hole but they have bags of potential, they have a  massive fan base and clubs with this will always find a way to dig themselves out. They just need the right men in charge to do it.
There is however one constant truism that always accompanies situations like this. The doomsayers are always out in force. To quote the famous poem by Albert Edgar Guest
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
Some people take joy in prophesying and forecasting the worst case scenario.  It may be they are expressing their own paranoia as a therapeutic measure or they may be the type who get a thrill from spreading doom and gloom. Whatever it is, it is a time for people who love their club to grow thick skins and learn to ignore such negativity until it comes from people who genuinely have their finger on the pulse and are speaking facts not fears.

I completely disagree. Their response only strengthens my view that EFL is completely incompetent.
Firstly  - multiple occasions they've dodged questions and fall back on an argument that the current and potential future punishments seek to maintain the 'integrity' of the league. bullpoo. How is the integrity of the league being maintained when we're being forced to play a makeshift team full of academy rookies and retired pros? Its a minor miracle Rooney is doing the job he's doing.
They completely disregard that the club has already been penalized to the point of extinction, and are still pushing for further sanctions which will only to serve to damage the supporters, the local community, and if we're lucky, new owners. The club is on its knees and all they can talk about is maintaining league integrity because 'its what the rules say' - they don't seem to grasp the issue that the rules are not fit for purpose in the first place. They also completely miss the point that our suspended 3 point penalty (for paying players 22 days late) was completely out of whack with what they agreed for Sheff Weds (and other clubs have got off scott free for the same offense in the past).
Also, this whole 'its the benefactor model which is wrong' cr@p needs to end. the EFL and its member clubs are in this financial predicament because the EFL are incompetent commercially, cannot negotiate a proper broadcasting deal, and have bent over and presented themselves to the EPL to take full advantage of. More regulations, such as the cost controls they're talking about, will only serve to broaden the gap between the EPL and EFL. Football either needs to stop being run as a business, or you let those who understand business run the football. You can't go either way.
