they have other members to consider and they may (will) object to any softness shown to us.  We have been ordered to restate our accounts, at least at an EFL level there is no dispute, that ship has sailed.  Take this to the High Court then that maybe a different story

So someone who say owned a forum and was owed money by the club for advertising would eventually see the full picture? Do we know anyone like that?

These are the figures for the relevant seasons, using the 'Derby Method' and after P&S exclusions:
    15/16 = £15.3m loss
    16/17 = £13.4m loss
    17/18 = £7.2m profit
    3 years to 2018 = £17.5m within the limit
Derby method amortisation in those years:
    15/16 = £3.37m
    16/17 = £5.04m
    17/18 = £6.64m
    Total = £14.95m
I estimated the amortisation under a standard policy to be £36.8m, and an increase in transfer profit of about £3.5m. That equates to overspending by just under £1m.
As you know, estimating how we 'valued' players under our amortisation policy is incredibly difficult to predict. So too is guessing player transfer fees.
It's possible the EFL are using a very basic amortisation policy (amortise over original contract length) which will make the figures worse. Typical amortisation policies allow for readjustment when extending contract and allow for impairment (big drop in value upon relegation or injury).
£4m overspend under typical policy sounds reasonable though.

My view is that we are not Rangers (one of the top 2 teams in Scotland), this is not Scotland there are far more leagues to navigate, this is not Scotland the competition is far more fierce, Derby is not Glasgow

perhaps that's we helped out with Mickleover when they had their pitch stolen, that will be our ground share??

I don't know how he has come up with the breaches based on the interview, he only mentioned £4m breach in a single year.  The stadium sale would have covered 3 of the 3 year cycles I think

The situation is not the same, Rangers do occupy a fairly unique spot in the make up of Scotland (that extends beyond the football club).
However, there is a good analogy for a route back. It would take a lot longer for us, be a harder road and the end point may well be a league 1/championship club. However, the approach could be emulated and the desire for Derby to have a football club is strong enough for a team to rise.
I'd rather a phoenix club exist in Derby than nothing and have to watch Partick Thistle.

Mel made it sound like him putting us in administration was the best thing for the club. He really had the confidence to own up infront of the supporters and say that the best thing for Derby County Football Club was him putting us in administration.
No, the best thing for the football club would be him paying the debts of the football club and to find an agreement with the EFL. The best thing for him was to put us in administration, therefore taking the workload and liability away from him.
As it stands, we've incurred an additional -12 point deduction on top of anything else that we may pick up and seemingly something that could run for a few more years yet. Another story ran over night thinks we're due to receive a -21 (potentially another 3) this season. With a further 15 point deduction next year. We've also got a transfer embargo for two years.
We know that Buchanan, Bird, Sibley and Knight will be sold. I'm not too concerned about that as I think it's great they're getting out of this mess as they genuinely have a career and a lot of potential. As a Derby fan, I wouldn't want the club to be a weight around these young lad's neck and become the reason they didn't fulfill their potential.
Mel is the worst chairman this club has ever had, he's leaving the club in the worst mess its ever been in - arguably up their with one of the worst messes of any club in the history of the sport. A club without a stadium, which he owns, potentially soon without training facilities huge point deductions with severe transfer embargos that could sink the club into the League Two - similar to Bolton. I think they still own their stadium(?) although I'm not sure.
But.... he's doing it for us. What a truly wonderful guy!

I had been thinking about this, the only thing I can think of is, if someone genuinely can't afford to go, but wants to, give me a PM in strict confidence and I will pair you with someone who is in a position to gift you a ticket.
    How does that sound?
It's no guarantee, but it is someone off this community,

I would willingly buy 2adult or 1 adult plus 2 child tickets to gift to someone who can’t afford it. But how do I find that person as I don’t want to give it to someone just taking advantage?
the only family I have left in the area can afford to pay for themselves when circumstances allow them to go!

There did seem to be some "oh and this and oh and this and oh and this so it adds up to eleventy million points deducted"
I don't doubt that the situation may be bleak, possibly as bleak as painted. But I'm a little skeptical on taking the whole post at face value.

Jono, the rich have still lots of dosh in fact many have prospered in these difficult time.  I am not so worried by this more how to navigate around the corrupt sharks and find somebody of a standard that the EFL will approve.  I fear they will have great doubts around anyone who is attracted to buy, we do have form in this area.  I guess the L2 issue depends much on whether we get all of our penalties this year.  As someone said, losing to Wendy would see i=us in exactly the same position but now facing relegation to L2
