I've said it before but I'd struggle to support a Phoenix team, more so because I know I wouldn't be able to get my little boy interested and being able to go to the game with my father and son is what all this is about to me...building those memories etc.
I hope we survive. It's one of the only things on my mind at the moment. It's a dark cloud day to day and I won't lie, I'm really struggling with it.  I know if we don't that I will need to find a new home, and hope that one day there will a bittersweet moment where the 'new' Derby gets back to where the club belongs.
    This is just horrible

Exactly. Paying them a few quid might not feel right, but if it removes the threat of liquidation, then it’s time to pack away the egos and just bloody well get on with it.

Right boys and girls… we’re ducked. The EFL want us dead, and what Steve Gibson says goes it seems, whether lawful or not. It’s looking increasingly likely the only way we’ll have a football club this time next year is with a Phoenix club.
With that in mind, thought it might be some light relief from the constant pain in other threads to discuss our “dream” phoenix team. As DCFC’s largest fans forum, I’d expect us to have a part to play in any potential fan built club. Let’s pretend for a minute we can duck Ramstrust and all them lot off, and we have total control over a new club. Who would you want as our “Phoenix Knights” to help build a new legacy? I’m talking Chairman, CEO, Manager, Players, DoF, Kit Man, Groundsman, Tea Lady, whatever you think we’ll need. I want either forum members, or DCFC alumni.
Note: This thread is clearly not intended to be serious, but who knows, if worst comes to worst, there might actually be some useful suggestions!
    I’ll get us started:
DoF - Me, obviously. I know everything, and I watch far too much football not to put my player knowledge to use.
Chairman - @David Has to be our supreme leader
Player/Manager - Curtis Davies. Absolutely Derby legend. Exactly the sort of warrior we want leading our revival.
Mascot - @B4ev6is No one shows more passion.
Commentator on match streams - @one_chop  Need someone to replace Ed Dawes’ negativity.
Academy director - @angieram / @Ghost of Clough Undecided here, both have an almost suspiciously good knowledge of youth football
That weird guy who hangs around the training ground but no one actually knows what he does - @Boycie Self explanatory.

One possible reason I can think of.
They can see the shitshow heading footballs way through the forward reporting of clubs as required under P&S regulations.
With Derby out of the picture, they can change the rules to head off multiple teams being docked points for non compliance. In fact, they could probably point to our demise as a reason the rules need adapting, to protect their member clubs.
Even if we're only relegated, rather than obliterated, we'll be under a different P&S regime in League One, with far less of a voice.
If we were somehow to survive in the Championship, they'd have no chance of changing anything, not without DCFC kicking up hell about it.

He tweeted his opposition to Mike Ashley taking us over, but seemingly has little other suggestions as to how we get out of this mess.
It's obviously not his responsibility to pump his money in to helping us, nor is it his responsibility to enlist the help of his 14-year-old, One Direction loving followers. However if all of his followers donated on average £1 each, he'd have nearly enough to pay off the creditors (according to the admins). If I was in his position, I'd be tempted to start some kind of fundraiser at least.

How much dosh has Mel got left. He could salvage his reputation by doing the right thing and at least agreeing to be responsible for the £3 and £2.56 due to Boro and Wycombe. This would provide an indemnity for the new owners. Go on Mel and hand over the ground for £0.00 while your at it.

Heartbreaking this is. Mel Morris, what have you done. I can’t put into words what this club means to me and all of us.

I am just lost for words now.

Believe the admins that this isn't the hold up and, particularly if Ashley comes in (I suspect his late interest was the hold up), this will be resolved swiftly.

That being said, not living in the area, I'm desperate for the club to survive as is.  There is no way you'll get a non-local little lad interested in a phoenix club and I'm desperate to take my son to the rams in the future

In all honesty, it was a bad loss but really we don't need extra games this season with our threadbare squad
