Perhaps, but we really don’t have the conventional benefits of a full ish squad. I can’t get excited or angry about the Torquay game. It was a cup tie where loads of stuff happens and loads of wild card issues are present. We were doing ok without being particularly special. When we went 2 up it was looking like an uneventful and unspectacular win against some plucky minnows. Then you get a penalty and a sending off mixed in with the green not being rubbed our way on the ref front and we end up with an irritating draw / replay. There were some stray passes, we could have done better, we made a couple of silly mistakes but it was what it was and certainly not an abject existential failure, just a tricky game with an unsatisfactory result. I am more worried about a paper thin squad getting battered at Anfield with the psychological baggage that brings for our league campaign. Warne has an against the odds task. He and the team need us

The thing for me with this is we really don’t need to bother about the FA Cup .
Why not try young players in games like Torquay !

So let’s give Warne time to turn the dross we are seeing into something a bit better or maybe should’ve stuck with the so called dross from LR and given him time ….I don’t want to see the sort of football I’ve been watching since Warnes arrival …we are better than that and yet all of a sudden we are a medoicre league 1 side ….don’t expect our time in league 1 to end anytime soon …give me controlling the game anytime over end to end basketball

For me Rosenior was only ever interim. I was intensely bored by his possession at the back until the opposition fell into a coma routine. But then they discovered they could close us down at pace and with hard work, things weren't getting better. Plan B?
Anyway I do not believe they way we are playing now is the finished article, Warne hasn't had the best of luck with injuries (not his fault he didn't tackle any of them in training, lol!) and now the games are piling up. I'm happy with the effort we see and the players attitude so roll on January.
I'm sure Clowes hopes he's picked the right man, after all it's been quite some time since Derby had a successful manager.

Yesterday was one of those games that makes the FA Cup what it is.  The conditions did play a part and help Torquay - how many times do you hear pundits talk about them being a great leveller.  Before the game they said that both managers had been looking at the pitch closely and commented that Gary Johnson said “it’ll cut up and be boggy on the far side”.  That’s why it’s a leveller.  They know where to play, where to force us to go to their advantage.
Like some posters have said, it’s hard to play a passing game on that pitch in those conditions.  It was impossible to know jar far the ball would travel and that helps the home team as they know the pitch.  Did we keep the ball well enough - no.  Is that the reason we didn’t win, partially.

I think there’s a common theme under Warne where we are struggling to control games. I don’t really care about conditions or how many men we had, yesterday we made zero attempt to even try and take control. Just aimlessly clearing it and then waiting for them to attack to do the same again. I don’t even mean passing it about, you don’t need to do that to be in control.
It was the same against Port Vale and Morecambe was like a basketball game at times. We have a few good midfielders in the squad but seemingly no intention of giving them the ball very often which is a shame.

I’m really on about retaining possession in other areas as we constantly give the ball away in our haste to get forward with Warneball
Warne alluded to the only thing Osula did right was score and inferred he needs to retain possession better .

My point is why are we talking about Liam?
Perhaps we should include how we think Darren wassell would have set us up,he was also a previous temporary manager.
    It's irrelevant.

I went to Morecambe and we were wasteful in that game and didn’t retain possession enough .
I know we are lucky to even have a team after administration and we have injuries and a small squad .
The players are doing their best as is Warne but he was critical saying our players aren’t nasty enough and inferred we didn’t manage the game 2nd half and should have scored more 1st half .
Im looking forward to Liverpool,MK Dons and Pompey .
I hope we win them all
PS The conditions are the same for both teams so how is that an excuse

Unless you accept we are no longer a possession based team, you will be in for a period of misery I'm sorry to say.
Warne has been open about his philosophy and is unlikely to change. He's not interested in playing out from the back and retaining possession for possession sake.
There are no right or wrong styles of football, Simeone, Conte, Guardiola and Klopp are a few of the most successful managers around and couldn't be more different in how they like to play.
The players must shoulder some of the blame for how wasteful we have been under both Rosenior and Warne, take Collins for example who had a slow start to the season in terms of finishing.
The other day, missing 2 penalties is criminal, that can't be blamed on the manager, 2 senior pros with terrible penalties.

Yes, we played our best available team.
The people saying we couldn't play it on the floor because of the conditions, what about playing it in the air with the swirling wind?! You could see that from Wildsmith's goal kicks that were getting caught up in wind. Our game management was absolutely diabolical.

Good luck to him and LR.
I can imagine that there might be some movement if there's players who Warne doesn't think are right and LR thinks could do a job for him at Hull, but I wouldn't sweat over it. I don't think we need to sell, unless Hull make an offer we can't refuse.
