Not sure whether this should cheer me up as such, or be in the 'proud to be British' thread, but tomorrow (May 26th) was, 78 years ago, the start of Operation Dynamo which ran over 8 days until June 4th 1940.

As you will know that was the evacuation from Dunkirk of the BEF. They expected to save 30,000 soldiers and in the end saved nearly 340,000, in great measure due to the huge efforts and bravery of the small boats and those who sailed them.  Thousands died too.

It led to Churchill's 'we shall fight them on the beaches' speech and also his comment that wars aren't won by evacuations. It might also put into some context the decision by our ex manager to feather his nest 20 miles down the road.

The only context in which I can place it is a conversation I was having with a friend about what we were wearing for world goth day. I’d bottled out of the purple velvet dress because it was too hot, but still managed to keep things fairly monochrome. 

Really sorry to be personal here Lambchop, but isn't that actually your left knee? With your right knee slightly out of focus?

Second go. Think it worked this time. This is what I get. I think Angieram is describing the same thing. If you press on the Derby County Forum bit then you get through to the usual forums page so it's no great problem. Just doesn't happen on my iphone or imac.

Tried that. Got this. Will try again

When I go to the 'home' page it no longer lists all the different forums. Instead there is a single link that takes me into a 'Derby County Forum' where all the Forums are then listed.

Not a major problem but I used to use the main logo to take me back to the list, not I have to go through another page. Just being lazy, wondered why it had happened.

Have now checked on desktop and the home button still takes me back to the list as before.

 

This is happening to me too David but on my Ipad only, not my iMac or iPhone. Just started about two weeks ago without me doing anything, knowingly.

I'll try cache clearing etc.  If I knew how to take a screenshot on an Ipad I'd do it

The Darkest Hour was a very good recent watch, in part because my brother in law was prominent in it as an extra, but The Commuter suspended belief a little too much
