NottsRam77 reacted to May Contain Nuts in Relegation watch
If you automatically assume the position that everything is poo, everything will go wrong, nothing good will ever happen and constantly profecise doom then you'll be proven right far more than you'll be proven wrong, especially where Derby are concerned.
People naturally, despite outward projections, hold on to hope that things might actually not turn to poo. It's a curse of the human condition, even when you think you've given up hope, it can pop back up seemingly out of nowhere. Until it doesn't.
We're all feeling bad enough about things without it being constantly rammed down our throats, as much as 'we' revel in our misery at times, 'we' don't really want a constant reminder of how bad things are, or could be, and as such (naturally) get a little defensive.
I'm sure you're the same but maybe people don't (or rarely) see that hope in your posts, the humanity?
If outwardly all people see from you is a barrage of negativity, it's going to get their backs up. It comes across almost as programmed, it comes across as attention seeking, even if it isn't meant to.

Exactly, not sure where this baalocks about negative posters wanting to be proved right comes from. We’ve just been being realistic, it’s as simple as that. Absolutely no Derby fan wants to see this club go down. I desperately want to be proved wrong, but I can’t see us in the Championship next season.

It’s no secret that I was v cynical of people opening the “play off thread” after one shithousing win against who I forget and was beating the we need to be looking over our shoulder drum and did for a good while
am I taking any pleasure from this? not in the bloody slightest, I only want one outcome from next weekend regardless of what I think / thought might happen.
if we go down I’ll be in the top 3 of Derby county fans living the absolute nightmare living in Nottingham for some 30 years
trust me we go down I won’t be bloody bragging about being right ... I’ll be in a room by myself drinking myself into the ground
feel free to join me if the worst happens
Infact this will be the last u hear from me on the subject it’s now about getting behind the lads abs preying
We all want one thing and one thing only
coy fk&&g rams!!!!!

NottsRam77 reacted to RoyMac5 in We won’t go down
We're only the best position if Rotherham don't win on Tuesday, then it would be down to us.
Although we've lost from good positions you have to keep saying at least we got into a position where we should have done better. We've not had good luck either, but we have to make our own luck.
Let's hope that it's in our hands to get the points needed to stay up after Tuesday evening.
We have scored goals and threatened. We have defended well at times. We need the chance to put the two together! I don't think there's much difference in talent between many of the players but can we at least have the one's most likely to score and least likely to choke on the pitch please Wayne? #COYR

I think I prefer the Evatt option
I want someone who wants to be at this club .. like really wants it and that being here is the biggest step in their career and they see it an honour to represent our club
same goes for any incoming playing staff

So .... when I said moons ago we were In trouble (Check back in this thread) and got laughed at by the Derby county entitlement brigade .. yer u know who u are...
were ducked ..... proper ducked
And no I’m not happy about it ... far from it
iv lived in notts for circa 30 years so everyone I know, work with or are mates with Will be revelling in our plight
So many on here have been like our government over COVID ... it won’t happen to us we’re the uk ... we’re Derby county it won’t happen to us
Well ... here we are
im truly fearful of our future as it stands ... like really really fearful
Im a bit pissed , a bit angry and above all a bit upset about the club I worship, live and breath
I just wish my old man was still about to somehow see the positive in this ... somehow as he always invariably did
as if I needed another radon to feel disengaged from Dcfc

Yet he's been ordinary recently and yesterday his first half was awful!

NottsRam77 reacted to BramcoteRam84 in Is this our worst ever side ?
I’ve supported Derby properly since the 92/93 season. There have been bad sides in that time. In terms of ability the 03/04 and 05/06 sides were worst than this. But they had some proper pros and some inspired loan signings got us through.
This one has too many youngsters and too many senior pros that won’t take responsibility. Maybe too cushy on big salaries.
The stats don’t lie outside of the top flight the last time we lost 6 in a row was 83/84 and we went down to the third division, last time we lost 7 in a row (which everyone is expecting us to) was 54/55 when we went down to the third division. We’ve been in the third division 5 seasons in our entire history!!
This is definitely one of the worst sides in our history, it could well be the worst.

Not disputing any of that or saying bad luck is the reason we’re in this position (we’ve lost 6 in a row FFS!) just saying they are equally poo right now and equally capable of bottling it.
No one is hopeful but it’s not fait accompli

Mate I hear what your saying but I think it’s more than just bad luck
look at the goals we conceded against brum... look at the first goal today
Look at the first goal against Blackburn .. that ain’t luck .. that’s a recurring theme
when balls go into our box we’re left wanting ... that’s why we are where we are
I can tell u now next week unless we do a Preston and roll over we will play ok, have a fair share of the ball ... we may even score but u know the moment the ball starts going into out box it’s a flip of a coin as to whever it ends up in our net or not

Genuinely there’s a lot to answer there and even more to clarify that have been lost in translation and I don’t have the inclination to do so right now certainly that I can be bothered to type out
agree re your point on Lawrence, Waggy, ibe and co... no one could foresee that and obviously the bielik injury
My early concerns (not as early as u stated) centred around how we played both boxes ... or didn’t as the case maybe that stemmed from cocu .. and Rooney has seemingly not only failed to improve but probably made worse
It’s not as simple or straightforward as just that and is a discussion for a conversation and not text discussion but that won’t happen
I appreciate the sentiment too, Thankyou
peace

It’s the worst Iv seen in 33 years
I’m defining worst as a combination of ability, desire and organisation.
I didn’t see any of our previous stint in league 1 so i can’t comment on that
but the only two sides that come close were the 11 pointers but as has been pointed out the baulk of that awful side were good enough to win promotion so not them
the closest I can think of were the Paul Jewell fall out of the premiership lot when he decided to try and rebuild an entire squad and brought in utter crap... the first couple of transition years under clough as he tried to salvage a side from that lot whilst operating under the American austerity at times was unbelievably bad too ... but they had fight, heart and Desire
so for me... in my Derby county lifetime I’m struggling to think of a group of players that are worse than this current crop
happy to hear alternatives though

I think it would be worth a go. Hopefully with a decent manager and the right set up he could surely have an impact in league 1.
I don't think there'll be teams queuing up to take him off our hands!

I would say it's been going wrong from when Rowett left he knew that Morris was changing direction in funding the team that's why he jumped ship and went to Stoke, after that it's been celebrity managers Lampard/Cocu/Rooney, if Lampard hadn't got Mount, Wilson and Tomorri on loan we would have struggled his signings were rubbish and Cocu/Rooney been a disaster.
-
NottsRam77 reacted to Jayram in Reasons why it has gone wrong.
It really didn’t go wrong when we sacked Clough - we were going nowhere with him in charge. It went wrong when Morris arrived after the 2014 playoff final and started throwing his money and his weight around. I genuinely had my doubts about him when he sacked Mac at the end of the 2014/15 season and again when he fired Clement as we sat 4th in the table. He has systematically wrecked our club with his interfering and poor decision making and I loath the man for it.
As for future managers I totally agree with you - whatever division we’re in we should go all out for Wilder (unlikely to get him I know but it’s worth a shot) or as you say Ian Evatt, a young and hungry manager who seems very capable of making a silk purse out of a sows ear judging by what he has done at Barrow & Bolton. Either way I just want our club to fly under the radar for a while, to reset and rebuild without being some unqualified inexperienced big name managers pet project.

Crikey can’t wait lol ?
totalky agree re a downward trend that’s hard to break... we need to come out of it quickly but with the need for virtually a whole new squad and little money to do it with as u say ... it may take time
