    V v interesting
i know many will call me for this and their right to do so … and i may end up with egg on my face … which i truly hope that isnt the case
    but … here goes
despite his monstrous rooster ups no one can deny mel is Derby through and through
hes been irresponsible hes been reckless but hes done it with the goal of getting his club of 50 years to the prem
i dont think he would put his home town club in a position where liquidation could happen
im hoping/ preying ur much better than i could write theory (no 1 if i had to guess) is a distinct posibility
I believe he has a cunning plan
i also belive he thinks the club has a better chance with the efl without him in the picture
I firmly expect us to challenge the admin points deduction with the covid narrative that he was spinning on RD

I suspect this may be the light at the end of the tunnel that for once, is not an oncoming train! Presumably Morris is obliged to meet the agreed terms (even if they involve staged payments) in order for the sale to be completed. What seems incredibly unlikely is that he can take ownership for £20million versus the much publicised £80 million valuation when he has himself put the relevant 'creditor' into administration.
Seems to me there are various plausible outcomes:
    1) He confirms his intention to complete the sale, in which case the club is owed @£60 million which offsets our current borrowing
    2) He relinquishes the stadium ownership and tries to recoup the £20 million already paid - good luck with that!
    3) He refuses to make further repayments to the club so ownership defaults back to the club and he forfeits the £20 million already paid
I suspect this scenario was a major factor in the dozen plus enquiries from interested parties the club received before the weekend was out. That is to say, a scenario whereby any buyer were to settle our debt book but in return receive an £80 million asset in the process, would surely make the deal of significant interest.
The optimist in me wonders whether administration might not be a cute way for Mel to honour his promises whilst at the same time providing an immediate means for him to escape the ongoing financial burdens associated with continued ownership, as well settling accounts with a rightfully unhappy fanbase and simultaneously ending the war with the EFL.

As long as the club survives (doesn't go into liquidation) we will be in league 1. If we have worst case scenarios of double relegation loads of points off and everyone sold who can be it will be a 10 year+ reset.
We will not simply walk back up the leagues. It won't happen. Think of clubs who went down a stayed down.
For me there is nothing else at the moment that matters but making sure the club survives. Nothing more. Make sure we have Derby county for the short, medium and long term.

I’d attempt to drop ticket prices for various groups, to a price point that incentivise larger crowds and generate perhaps more money coming in.
Clearly, there would be sensitivities with some people who have purchased season tickets, but hopefully fans would understand.

Convinced an old mate to get a ticket for Reading. He generally makes about 3 games a season but he's committed to home games until Christmas at least.
I reckon he'll get the bug and be chasing away fans back to the station in no time. He's 62.

We had this debate on the 'stupid ticket system' thread. Yes you have to create an email address for your daughter and hopefully it will get sent to that account but there's a way of getting it back to yours but not sure how. See above.

We have a few posters who have agreed to gift a ticket or 2 to someone who cannot afford to go. You can PM me if you you want to go but genuinely can't afford to buy a ticket or two. Due to Covid you will need a fan id and an email address. We can get the ticket emailed to you.
Your PM will be dealt with in strictest confidence. We have all had times when we haven't been able to afford to go, we are all Derby and will help each other.

A great post, I love the sentiment. I feel the same.
I initiated my son into the fold when he was about 5 or 6.  About the time he started to actually wanted to kick a ball about.
He was quite lucky at as the first few seasons he saw some great football at PP.    Highs and lows followed, Wembley(s) or being at Old Trafford for the cup win etc.
But for me it’s been about spending time with him, and share the highs and lows.  Especially now he’s old enough to go with his mates and bar a couple  away matches he still goes with me.
I would lie down and rest a happy man if he thought the same way as you do in your second paragraph.  I hope he will look back and remember those times and not these.  Having said that the future for him as a Derby fan might be full of promise and European domination, who knows? As Jimmy quite rightly said
    It’s a funny old game
