Yeah, get Ravel off too. He's rubbish. He certainly can't score a 25 yard screamer, that's for sure! ?

I don't think I've ever seen such an impotent team in all my years of watching professional football. Reading are letting us have the ball in all manner of dangerous areas, trying to draw us on, because they know it will be a miracle if we score a goal. You have to score when you dominate, but we just don't know how.
Buchanan should have played instead of Fozzy. Shinnie is the worst culprit so far in terms of having broken Reading's lines and with the pitch open in front of him, turning back and playing difficult backwards or sideways balls to put us into trouble. I thought Sibbo would be dropped for this game but my word in this game we are desperate for him to play. Otherwise it has 0-1 written all over it when we'll claim we dominated and were very unlucky, but in truth we could play for a week and not threaten.

All over the place at the back. A bit more quality from both sides and this would have tonnes of goals in it.

Whether people believe this or not, there is likely some truth in it. This could easily be the end of Derby with debts like that. 50/50 chance of being liquidated? I never believe the mail usually but I think these reports could be pretty accurate. This club has been destroyed financially.

The news broke as I was sat in the pub with my fiancé, going over wedding plans believe it or not.
Felt like a punch to the gut on so many levels. I've almost become immune now to tabloid stories on possible point deductions, however wasn't prepared for administration.
I changed the ads on my phone, understanding that administrators would have us down with the milkman at the bottom of the priority list, that's just how it is.
There is a contract in place for the adverts with a notice period which has not been triggered by either side, however I presume the process would allow for immediate termination and have no doubts this will happen.
I have had a great relationship with a number of people at the club, people that will now be in fear of their jobs.
I'm not going to pressurise them for any kind of clarity as I'm sure they will be just as much in the dark as we have been.
Said it on many occasions, no adverts = no forum, it's been great to show you all relevant ads for RamsTV, megastore, tickets etc.
Maybe it's something that once the administration process is over can resume, I just don't know right now.

Absolutely, been saying that since Friday.  Pay your loans off and what's owed in tax.  Take 5 million a year for the ground and at a reasonable sale price . Gift the academy to the club as you've been banging on about it being your legacy for years. He has a point with the EFL and the stadium debacle and the amortisation.  Potentially that cost the club a loan of uncertain proportion, but the basic of running a business is keeping your tax liability straight and we don't owe the figure bandied about for one year of trading.  Other than that , I'm struggling.  Chancer

On the KM podcast he (KM) mentions he’s spoken to people who are in the process of selling businesses to Mel Morris!!!
This isn’t can’t pay anymore, this is won’t pay anymore and he’s prepared to put the club at risk because he won’t stand behind HIS gambles.

I’ve reflected more on that interview and in my initial comments i went easy on him. He had the audacity to say this course of action is the best most positive way forward for the club to get a buyer and move forward. It’s unbelievable he said that!!

The more I think about it I realise what a dire position HE has put us in BY CHOICE and the angrier and angrier I feel.

    ?
And we spent it all wisely. I don't see how anyone can excuse Mel for being so reckless with the club! But what is absolutely galling is his constant excuse-making. If he'd kept a better eye on the budget we wouldn't be in such a mess, and we could have had the covid loan! We would probably still have a stadium and wouldn't be in administration.

On the debt, whatever the number, there are a load of minute rules around repayment.
Generally, it seems that there are minimum thresholds of offers we have to make (35p in the pound for hmrc I think is one example) and have maximum periods over which to clear the debts.
Plus, we cannot continue to weaken the position for creditors ie by continuing being cashflow negative.
If we fail any of those tests we face the prospect of liquidation.

ANGERMAN1 reacted to Red Ram in Mel Morris interview on Radio Derby 1pm
What struck me was how Mel said he didn't regret taking over the club because he'd 'rather have tried and failed' than not tried at all.  So that's alright then - he's managed to tick an item off on his bucket list even though it hasn't worked out the way he hoped it would.
It seemed an incredibly egocentric response to the question in the circumstances. All about the how it affected Mel Morris and no reference to the impact on the club's employees who would still have a job if Mel hadn't gambled with the future of the club by tripling the wage bill.  He just doesn't seem to have fully grasped the fact that he's put the very existence of the club itself at risk, trying to pretend that administration as being "in the best interests of the club etc.
Put that together with the fact that he didn't even bother to let Rooney and the players know what was about to happen and a pretty clear picture of his character starts to emerge.

I'm sure Mel read this message board before signing the likes of Bradley Johnson.
I mean, it's not like he has stated himself that we learned he was available at the very last minute on transfer deadline day and just went for it. No plan, no process.
Must have been all the pesky people on here demanding it.

I'm not gettng this narrative set by a few on here that those daring to criticise Mel now were the same ones demanding signings and overspending.
Massive, sweeping generalisation that comes across as a weak excuse for Mel's actions.

When all this is over, and we are wallowing near the bottom of division one or two and living sustainably within our means, I don't want to see any of the posters who are now criticising the way Mel Morris overspent complaining. Or saying players are rubbish, or demanding the owner sacks the manager.
All the things people have demanded repeatedly during Mel Morris's tenure.
