People playing music in their garden in a residential area, so loud I can hear it inside at a volume I'd consider a touch loud.
Especially as it's Cascada or some such nonsense.

I always brazenly go for the middle.  Intimidatory tactics to scare would-be left or righters into a stall one scenario.

    Alas not true.
There was an episode of Balderdash and Piffle with Victoria Coren about it.
Radio Grid was just a theory that they couldn't find any evidence to support.
Can't remember where it did come from though!

Weirdly last night in the pub I went to the toilets and there were 5 urinals and 1 bloke ...who was using the middle one.
I almost made a comment; except a) I wasn't pissed enough by that point  b) I had this very thought that maybe he had been left high and dry by others.
I later ruminated that commenting on someone else's etiquette was even worse etiquette than their behaviour.

I think you're lookingat it the wrong way.
    The question should be:
What kind of man, seeing 3 urinals with 2 occupied just sidles up in between them? I'll tell you what kind of man. The kind of man who becomes an internet forum moderator.

    Cake.
How baking cakes has become a national obsession I do not understand. Inferior to almost any other pudding.
'Ooh she makes amazing cakes,' - must also be the most over-rated talent. A semi-moron could knock up a half decent sponge, but it takes someone 'amazing at cakes' to add the required icing to make it sickly beyond edible.
Its not even equal to the sum of its parts, let alone greater. Especially chocolate cake.
Give me a caramel donut or an elephant's foot any day.

Greggs - How the hell did these things get everywhere? The sausage rolls are bog standard mass produced swill. You'd get better from any half decent butchers.

    Good thread, terrible example.
Lived away for years, still go to buffets/parties back home and without thinking will bite into a cob and immediately go 'yum, these are Birds'... just different to anywhere else.
Anyway - hot tubs. Horrendously expensive way to share a bath.
Also agree with coffee shops...or Costa Bomb/Packet/Fortune/Arm n Leg as me and the kids 'affectionately' call it.

When folk get upset about the country grinding to a halt for snow, you have to ask yourself (as a tax payer) if you'd really be happy to pay the many, many tens of millions for extra snowploughs and prep that we'd need to keep the country running, in the full knowledge that they'd all be sitting about deteriorating for 360 days every year? Countries that cope better than us with wintery weather tend to do so because they expect more show and ice so are willing to pay....

If it helps get a floating hologram of Ray Winstone's head off my screen,
Or it stops Patrick O'Power's Bantersaurus Rex philosophy on life pervading my podcasts,
Or it persuades the 'lads' who spend their entire lives talking about lumping on and laying off, and wasting their money on 10 team 'accas' to do something more productive with their time,
Or frees up space and creative time to advertise reading a book, or talking to elderly relatives, or learning a skill, or visiting a museum,
Or stops someone placing their first bet,
Or stops someone placing their last...
Then it seems like a good idea to me.
Keep gambling, but don't promote it. Same as keep smoking, but don't promote it, keep fast food and booze but don't promote them. They do enough damage on their own.

    Annoying thing No 1:
Having need for this, whilst away on holiday back in June:
Having to dismantle the door handle just to get in the bloody thing to lift the bonnet catch... battery had died whilst switched off and locked!  Literally nothing would work.

    Annoying thing No 2:
Having the same thing happen 3 weeks later at home, and calling out the AA man.

    Annoying thing No 3:
Having a car full of gadgets, but a battery not up to the job of supplying enough oomph to get said gadgets to work.  No keyless entry on 3 of the 4 doors.  No auto engine stop/start.  Constant warnings about low battery etc!

    Annoying thing No 4:
Ford having the car for a day, only to say there is nothing wrong with the battery.  ?

    Annoying thing No 5:
Waiting 4.5 weeks to drop your car back in, as the last diagnosis was inconclusive, so they needed to re-book it back in "for a few days", for further and more thorough investigation, and 4.5 weeks was the next available slot for a 3 day courtesy car.
Turn up this morning... no record of requiring a courtesy car, and seemingly none available!  ?
40mins and one kick-off later, a courtesy car miraculously becomes available!

    Annoying thing No 6:
Courtesy car not been valeted inside or out... and its duckin' red! ?
