Rules are rules and if we’re in breach of them, that’s on us. That’s a failure in ownership, and let’s be honest, an hugely inconsistent approach to signings.

I’ll argue until I’m blue in the face that we needed to make huge amounts of transfers to try and stay up, but some of them were just indefensible. Players who’ve barely played or otherwise wasn’t adequately vetted before signing them.

Expecting them to chuck the book at us. I would argue it feels incredibly unfair given they’ll no doubt look the other way for the likes of Man City and Chelsea, but comparing our cases won’t help. On us to argue our case yet try to stay up whatever the outcome.

Until teams like Man Shitty and Chelsea are hit with the same rules it will always be unfair 😞

But we have a more experienced squad that might be better at the end of the season, they won't be able to keep those energy levels up till the end of the season

Well they have more chance than we do ! Their oldest starting player was 26 today I believe !

And look how we tired last season !

A good contest between two well matched sides, but we let ourselves down in the last 15 minutes. It was desperately disappointing.

Peterborough are a good team - good in possession, plenty of dynamism, athleticism, pace, power and movement - and they acquitted themselves well. They deserve credit as their heads never dropped and they kept pushing us.

However we gifted them the three points with two uncharacteristically poor moments in defence. If you go 2-1 up and get to the 80 minute mark in a winning position, defend well and force the opposition to do something special to get back into the game. Instead we conceded two goals of the poorest quality and that will sting for a while.

It’s not a time to be too hard on Warne or the players. 8 wins in 10 shows they are giving everything they can. All we can do now is bounce back quickly and win on Saturday. Anything less and Portsmouth, Peterborough and Bolton will soon be out of sight.

I normally agree with much of what you say but I can’t today - were we really well matched? I mean don’t get me wrong it was a cracking game but I don’t think we matched them for pace, energy and movement despite the fact we worked very hard.

Their no 14 was absolute quality 😞

  4. Just got home and feel pretty down about that 😞

Not going to pick on anyone although I do dislike the way that we sit back when we go a goal up.

But to be honest we were beaten by a better team - the pace, movement and fitness they possess showed what we are missing - anyone that thinks Peterborough didn’t deserve that must have been watching a different game - I mean I get we are always going to be biased but we really can’t complain at the result - just a shame our defence which has been so good let us down.

Their no 14 was excellent and I imagine more championship clubs would be looking at him rather than Bird who was anonymous again.
Thinking about it I would take most of their front line and midfielders over ours 😞

I think that game has made me realise that we aren’t good enough for the top two which I had begun to hope we might be !

It was a bit strange tonight being 3-0 up and only 25% of us in the South stand wanted to Bounce. I know The cobblers were tragic and probably the most lazy bunch of players I have ever seen , but I think there are still bridges to be built between fans and management.

Totally agree it was very flat - I watched the south stand and even they were pretty quiet and couldn’t start the bounce !

  6. Just got back from the game - was that Derby County I just saw ?

Really positive performance, for the first time in goodness knows how long we played with a purpose. Worked hard when we lost the ball and made spaces to pass and move when we had the ball. Washington led by example and had an excellent game !

They were perhaps the worst side I have ever seen, they didn’t press, didn’t make things difficult for us and gave us way too much space.

So I guess I’ve been a moaner but I gave the team and manager my full support tonight - I really hope we have turned a corner - tonight needs to be a benchmark and yes I’ll be moaning again if we can’t reach it !

  7. Based on Warnes business over the summer I don’t hold much faith even if he did have a few pennies to spend - his signings have hardly set the world on fire have they ? Apart from Nelson who has been excellent.

Also January is a notoriously difficult time to sign players - is there really going to be a decent forward available ?

Unfortunately I think Warne’s time is up now.

I don’t think it’s an impossible position to recover. We have plenty of time to find form, claw back points and find ourselves in the top six. We could win both games in hand and be in 6th, for example.

The problem for Warne is the goodwill has gone and it’s the hardest to get back once it’s slipped away and results like today only cement the ill feelings.

The scenes post match v Shrewsbury either tend to be the beginning of the end or to stir up a reaction. To deliver that today against a newly promoted side from League 2, irrespective of form and the momentum they are riding, is surely the nail in the coffin.

I think he has tried his best in challenging circumstances but clearly something is not right and Clowes has to act. We just haven’t clicked.

The trouble is that the new man can’t bring in any players until January, so there’s the danger that things might get worse before they get better.

    That’s a sudden turn around ?
