Question? Did we, in general, and JW, in particular, create the amount of extra time that saw the game still being played when they got the penalty? I think we probably did.
Personally, I think it might be justice. We've complained at other team's "sh1thousery" all season. Was the penalty Karma for us utilising sh1thousery ourselves?

Win the next 3 and we end up ahead of Posh. Won't be easy though. Exeter have a good home record despite losing their last 2 home games, both 1-0, to Plymouth and Bolton. Burton have hit form and we're the scalp they always want. Pompey at home is, on paper a game we should win and they are probably out of the picture now. Conversely that could see them relax and play some great stuff. We end the League season at Wendy and that won't be easy either.

3 at the back is his preferred option. We started the game with a back 3 that has a combined age of 60, average age of 20. In the past 3 games they have restricted the opposition to just 4 shots on target. That's not bad.
IMO, he has gone that way to prevent the MF getting overrun as it has tended to be, especially n 2nd halves of late. Yesterday we were 2nd best for much of the game. We scored a well worked, early goal but after that it was Rovers who looked the better side. They mirrored our failing of not being able to turn possession and territorial advantage into goals, or even shots.
I hated our time wasting, the use of tactics we hate the opposition utilising. Wildsmith got booked for time wasting. Had treatment 4 times where maybe 1 was necessary. Did that create the extra minutes in which they got and scored the penalty? I think we shot ourselves in the foot.
4 games left and I think we need 3 wins and a draw, minimum, to hit top 6. I'm not sure we'll manage that. Not winning at Exeter on Tuesday and we can definitely bin any lingering chance of the playoffs.
With regard to their penalty, "social media" is full of angry people saying it wasn't one. PW agrees. Reverse the situation and I'd be disappointed if we didn't get it.

10 minute walk from the Alex and the Brunny. Good enough for me. Couple in there and then another 5 minute hike to the Telegraph for another one or two and then on to the Neppy. Cultural and social excellence. After the Neppy on to the Viceroy for a curry and then a small wander back to the hotel.

Meanwhile we are all praying that his legs remain intact till the end of the season. Another injury would see him totally unsellable.

Nowt to stop a player putting his body between an opponent and the ball. That's why I'd have given it. Also why I said it wouldn't get given by half the refs while the other half would.....

Ref was crap but does seem to know the rules better than most fans. Two shouts for penalties for handball, neither were. One saw the arm tucked up against the body, the other... well, it was Collo who handled. The 3rd shout was for the Knight incident. That's a 6 and 2 threes issue to me. As many refs would have given it as wouldn't have. This one didn't. Why? IMO he thought that Knight veered off course to invite the challenge. He did change course. Nowt the defender could do will have been the reasoning. I'd have given it. The defender caused Knighty to go down. It was far more a penalty than the one Plymouth got against us... whilst watching on RamsTV I said immediately "It's a penalty and he won't give it".

2nd game on the trot we limited the opposition to just 3 shots. Nothing much wrong defensively. Going forward we lack bite and a decent last pass in the final third. Players trying overly intricate stuff. Overhitting crosses. Wrong choices. Missing the target when hitting it is a much easier option. Choosing to shoot low when the keeper is coming down to smother a shot, give it a bit of air and in it goes.

Ref way too lax on time wasting and on "injuries". Getting rules wrong as well. Cash and Collo collided and needed treatment. Ref let Cash stay on but Collo had to leave the field. Wrong. Should both have been allowed to stay on...

The rotund bint aint started to clear her throat as yet but I think we are now likely to miss out on the playoffs. Pompey at home and Wendy away in the last 2 games of the season means we'll have to get max points in the next 5 games to have a chance. Our toothless tigers up top will ensure we don't...

... and we did meet up in hospitality. Great to put a face to a name. Saw Wistaston Ram and his wife there too. Managed a quicj chat with Sav after getting him to admit to trying to get to the friendly at ADO den Haag on his wife's passport. Later I had 5 minutes with David Clowes. A thoroughly nice chap he is too.

Not so much in position but, as PW has often said, the squad misses balance. With the exception of a keeper, the players are either 30+ or U22. It's the age group in between that usually is the "glue" in a squad.

Small, unbalanced squad. Older players possibly running out of steam. Probably got as much out of them as possible.
I do wonder at his substitutions and the timing of them. I also wonder at why we appear to fail to respond to opposition changes in personnel/formation. Is that due to what's on the bench not fitting the changed bill or a failure of the staff?
Reasonable under the circumstances but the jury is out on the future...
