SamUltraRam
League game 18 was an away win at Bolton Wanderers 1 - 0 My memory from this this game was getting bottles thrown at us as we were escorted from the station to the ground & half the crowd was made up of Derby fans In 1984/85 we won 2 - 0 at Cambridge Utd - a big game for me as it was my first away game without being 'escorted' by my Dad, thank God for the football special trains 48 hours, Ellafella, SKRam and 2 others 2 2
SamUltraRam
League game 19 was a top of the table home clash with runaway leaders Reading which ended in a 1 - 1 draw. Reading had the prolific goal scorer Trevor Senior in their ranks but it was Michael Gilkes who scored in this game The crowd was the largest of the season so far - 16,140 In 1984/85 we got our 3rd straight league win at home to Orient 1 - 0 Ellafella, BramcoteRam84, 48 hours and 1 other 2 1

BramcoteRam84
All good updates, beyond what i expected but unless you’ve gone the work already will save you the last 2 and just ask for a league table comparison after 21 games. Seriously though much appreciated ????? JJs dms and Ellafella 1

SamUltraRam
League game 20 was an impressive 3 - 0 away win at Doncaster Rovers. For some reason this was played on a Sunday. My main memory of this game was being in the Donny end with my dad's mates and celebrating our goals & then being singled out by some locals as a 'scab'. As I was still at school I was a bit too young to be down the pit, maybe it was different in Yorkshire. In 1984/85, game 20 was a memorable home game with Newport County in which we went 3 - 0 down. Following a tremendous fightback it was John Robertson who scored the equaliser as the game finished 3 -3. 48 hours, SKRam, JJs dms and 1 other 1 1
SamUltraRam
League game 21 was a hard fought 1 - 0 home win against Wigan Athletic In 1984/85, game 21 was a Boxing Day away defeat at Gillingham 2 -

Sat next to us was scruffy bloke with a copy of the racing post who whacked down 4-5 whiskies , all my group thought we knew his face but couldn’t quite place him. Any way at the game Rams 2-1 up with 15- 20 to play , bossing the game when they bring a sub on. The same scruffy bloke from the Social Club turns out to be Terry Cochrane the Irish winger who proceeds to tear us apart and they win 3-2. Think the Ice Cream Man Tony Cascarino played for Gills that day and Arthur tried to buy him a few times for us but failed on the back of his performance then. uttoxram75, 48 hours, dabber and 3 others 3 2
SamUltraRam
League game 22 was a comprehensive 4 - 0 away win at Wolves. This put us on 43 points From memory, it was absolutely freezing that day and Molineux was in a right old state. I think only two stands were being used then. In 1984/85, game 22 was a huge 5 - 1 away win at Swansea City putting us on 35 points with goals from Charlie Palmer, Steve Buckley, Bobby Davison , Andy Garner and Kevin Wilson (his last goal for Derby before moving to Ipswich Town in January) 48 hours, Premier ram, JJs dms and 1 other 3
SamUltraRam
Our next game was eventful for those of us that travelled - away at Newport County on New Years Day. My memory of this is getting the Heanor Supporters bus early morning - of course with a massive post New Years Eve hangover. Got to Newport quite early and went to a local Miners Welfare and at that point it wasn't raining. Whilst we were in there the heavens opened and by the time the game kicked off the pitch condition was awful. The game started and Newport took the lead but the worst thing was Bobby Davison got an injury that would keep him out for almost two months. On 39 minutes the referee abandoned the game due to the waterlogged pitch. SKRam and 48 hours

If my memory serves me right the pen was awarded when George Williams tried to tackle one of their players just outside the box , continued to slide on the water logged pitch ( totally under water) and collided with another Newport player in the box. Most bizarre pen I’ve seen given. match should never have started as dangerous and cost us dear with Bobby D’s injury SamUltraRam
SamUltraRam
In 1985/86, League game 23 was a 1 - 1 away draw at Harry Redknapps Bournemouth who included Northern Ireland striker Colin Clarke That put us on 44 points, 6 ahead of our current position. It was also in the middle of a bizarre situation where we didn't have a home league game from Wigan on Dec 22 until Cardiff City on 1st March - caused by bad weather and numerous FA Cup games In 1984/85, game 23 brought a 1 - 0 home win over York City in front of a bumper New Years Day crowd of 16,113 which put us on 38 points - the same as we have now. However, we were about to go on a very bad run of results which brought us just 2 points in the next 6 league games 48 hours

SamUltraRam
In 1985/86, league game 24 was a tight 1 - 0 away win at Blackpool with Andy Garner scoring the only goal. It was a lively game off the pitch with Blackpool fans trying to attack the escorted Derby fans walking along the sea front from the station, the DLF being escorted out of the home end during the game into the away end & bricks being thrown at the football special train as we waited to leave Blackpool. The win took us to 47 points, 6 points ahead of our current total. In 1984/85 we suffered a 3 - 0 loss away at Bolton leaving us on 38 points, 3 behind our current total SKRam, BramcoteRam84 and 48 hours 1
