Fair do’s Dabbs, just thought Festy was one of our better players today ??

May have been a bit harsh on him. I always want some end product to go with his speed, though tbf today he did use his speed to make a couple of great last ditch tackles. Gives his all as always and as he gets a bit more experience could be a real gem, cheers!

Baldock 4

Plange 6

??

Plange touched the ball 4 times in 56 mins. Baldock 10!!

Plange made 2 passes at 0% complete…Baldock was 5 passes at 40% complete (2 passes)!

Plange was dispossessed or had an unsuccessful touch 4 times. So did Baldock!

Neither player completed a dribble, had a shot or made a key pass!!

Neither player made a defensive contribution (ie a tackle / clearance / interception / block)!

Neither player was offside which tells you everything about the type of runs they made!

Not the best day for either so how one is a 6 and one a 4 is beyond me!

Thought both were anonymous and deserved to be substituted, not that they had any service when we were struggling to get the ball ?

Err, why does that distress you so much? Plange is taller. ?

Plange is a kid who put a shift in with awful service, Baldock is vastly experienced and looks lost, ravabeerbelly is someone who clearly needs something else  to distract him. Life is strange isn't it?

It doesn’t distress me at all ?‍♂️

It just makes no sense other than to highlight that Baldock is more harshly judged based on nothing other than perception.

I would doubt very much if Plange put in any more of a shift than Baldock did, in fact I’d bet dollars for donuts, that Baldock’s running stats were greater than Planges if only because the type of player he is would’ve tried to make life as easy as possible for a ‘kid’ and to protect him somewhat. These types (Davies / Jagielka / Shinnie are others) are the very reason some of the younger players have been able to thrive.

Allsop     8.5    Several excellent saves, one clear points-saving one, dealt with corners well, lost 0.5 pt for initiating one passing-out farce that nearly cost us, but looks a calmer influence than Roos.

Byrne     7.0    Difficult afternoon given how much WBA attacked down the flanks, but stuck at it.

Forsyth   8.0   Tricky start at LB, but defended calmly and astutely once moved to LCB

Stearman  9.0   Fantastic performance considering how little football he's played. Martialled defence well as middle of back 3.

Davies   8.0  Steady as ever, inspirational leadership, some important tackles etc

Thompson  7.0  A few stray passes but really got stuck in and let the Baggies know he was there.

Bird   7.5  Steady. Some astute passes and interplay in a crowded midfield.

Ebosele  7.0  Possibly his strongest defensive performance. Not able to do much in attack, but showed some magic at times.

Knight   7.5   Another hard-working performance. Never let the Baggies defenders settle.

Baldock  5.5   Pressed well, but had very few opportunities to do much in possession.

Plange   5.5    Same as for Baldock. Couldn't make an impression against very physical defenders and an arse of a referee.

Morrison  6.5  Gets a score just for harrying CB & Keeper into a key mistake.

Kazim  7.0   Made the finish for his goal look easier than it was. Instantly gave their defence a problem to solve.

Cashin   6.5 Gets a score purely for THAT tackle ?
