Transfer Windows and Players Contracts

They will know already that the authorities will not sanction player registrations for this season that isn't finished so no chance of legal action succeeding. They are protecting players rights to employment but not their ability to play games.

Can you imagine dirty L**ds signing Harry Wilson on loan on July 1st and playing him against Blackbum on the 4th? That improves their team by a huge percentage and disadvantages Blackbum against the team that played them prior to this date? Won't happen. But if L**ds want to get in him quick for next season (before someone else does) they can.

It would indeed and Leeds or any other team should have every right to do that with the transfer window opening on 1st July. You simply cannot have a transfer window and then not allow players to play, it is no different to the January transfer window.

We shall see, if that was the case why not just put the start of the transfer window back to coincide with the end of the season, when this was originally discussed (2 months ago) no one had any idea when the season would restart if at all, events have changed, i can't see how player registration can be withheld if a player is signed in the transfer window. I would imagine some CEO's are already having thoughts about such a possibility with their legal teams already primed

And I bet there is nothing written in the EFL so called rules to stop teams playing newly registered players from July 1st

Bloody hell need them for rest of the season at least

Nah, not really. When haven't needed TH in ages and there would be only place at the bench. Martin hasn't featured much either. As Marriott is recovering as well, Martin could be useful to have but not necessary. Waggy can play upfront and Holmes/Knight would take his place on the right.

If all goes horribly wrong and Waghorn is not available, we still have certain Wayne Rooney as a back up. That'll do.

Have you been watching our good performances this season? Martin has been a key player.

Marriott is recovering, not available and Waghorn's chances to conversion rate is shocking.

As a third forward Waghorn is ok but as you say his conversion rate always feels dreadful and Martin makes us so much better as a team

Obviously Martin would be better option, everyone can see that. But if he is going to go, what can you do about it?

Our situation ain't that bad and at least Waggy's conversion is not as shocking as Marriott's.

if a player does leave at the end of June,  can they sign for someone else immediately ? could they play for another team this season or does the window open after the season ends?

They won't be able to play this season. Same as te Wierik cannot play for us this season.

Not necessarily, the player may have a long term deal lined up elsewhere, and not want to risk playing on for a team who aren't his future.

Charlton have 3 in their squad in the same position, they're not even playing until the end of this month as contracted.
