If you allow people to identify as what they want, that inevitably leads to people that identify as non human;

A perfectly reasonable point of view has a grounding in science, genes and chromosomes.  Someone of a more scientific background might respect your right to live as a two-spirit penguin but not agree with it.  Its the modern day equivalent of The Church vs Science, the only difference being that the Church will finally accept scientifc facts whereas as you get banned from twitter/deplatformed for challenging the progressive transgender narrative ?

https://www.theguardian.com/education/2020/jan/14/sacked-silenced-academics-say-they-are-blocked-from-exploring-trans-issues

But thats both religion and gender in one post.  I'm outta here ?

There us or never was a culture war ????

Isn't this political compass test skewed towards American politics though? I only say that because when looking at mine an my friends' results it seems that anything other than outright rejection of public healthcare catapults you way to the left.

It's certainly a set of loaded questions. The ones that might send you to the right are the capital punishment and the ones that try to get you to admit to being a full-on racist. Not much in between

Kind of funny really because it couches the left-leaning questions in a way that emphasises how socialism is fundamentally about caring (which it is) but doesn't really address the issues a lot of people have with socialism

I must admit a lot of the questions I didn’t see as issues here but would be in the US. We don’t even have a death penalty and who cares who is married to who so long as they’re happy. I don’t see them as issues.

You don't have it wrong

Not sure it's exactly right either. Not something I was particularly aware of so did a quick read on Wikipedia. There was some burning of books, mostly around the opposing factions in the bolsheviks, so can't say it's wrong - but was it "a hell of a lot of literature"? I'm going out on a limb and saying not comparable with the nazi effort, solely on the comparative fame of the act.

I'll be told its my echo chamber now. But if you say book burners I'd think fascists, not bolsheviks.

Or maybe Coronavirus has turned everyone into a socialist? "So by keeping taxes low for the rich and forcing austerity on the country due to having to bail the banks out when their gambles failed, it meant that the poorly paid nurses have no protective clothing and the country is totally unprepared for a pandemic. All this clapping has made me think who I vote for in future. I don't think hedge fund managers are that important anymore."

On this leftwing liberal forum, you are far right!

It's exactly where I thought I would be. Probably slightly more to the left, but it didn't go in-depth on my views on healthcare. So probably shunted me to the right a bit.
