Well I’m still giving my ‘best breweries in the country’ award to Yorkshire. Elland and Leeds Breweries are indeed very very good at what they do. Feel free to partake.... Disclaimer....(some cost is involved in the purchase price). ?

When they got to the other side of the police escort the door was SO buckled and bent it would NOT shut ! 

Wish I had a Mark 2 Cortina now !

I've actually heard about somebody doing this, but pretty sure it would have been Cotton lane cop shop and not Peartree.

You might be correct we used to catch a bus on the bridge on Osmaston road just before Litchurch lane there used to be some gents toilets there .The away fans used to be escorted down  Osmaston road away from town so towards Cotton lane (would the escort go down Cotton Lane to the station )

I have been trying to find out about these "legends " One died a few years ago But I have found the other on F B  

I will try and do some tactful digging

No they turned left down Litchurch lane past the carriage works and left again on London Road towards the train station. 

The idea was to avoid the flashpoint at Ivy Square where both sets of fans used to meet.

Yes they did take away fans that way but before there was another station near the BBG used for away fans

Anyone else miss those good old days, when you were likely to get smashed up for the audacity of going to watch your favourite team play. Simple, less complicated times. Jeez.

Dont take it to heart Spanish , i dont miss many games home or away but i dont ever say im a real supporter , anybody with the Rams at heart is a fan in my eyes , whether you go to games or not

Ahhhh, you just brought back the sights and sounds of the 70s.....the dull thud of polished ox blood docs pounding the pavements, the crunch of glass from scores of flying bottles, the whizz of a dart flashing past your ear on the way to embedding itself in a police horses arse, the rise and fall of sirens and flashing lights rising to a cacophony of haka like screaming as the mobs ran back and forth in their tribal war dances.....

whats not to like!!!!

They used to park the coaches at the back of cotton lane cop shop.

The toilets were on Bateman Street just off the junction with Ossie Road.

it was a flashpoint there as the away fans escort came over the bridge toward the station.

They built a platform near Peartree station called Rams Halt (I think) but it only got used for one game.
