PodgeyRam
Derby County sacked Nigel Clough after a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. Derby were 14th in the table having won 3, drawn 2 and lost 3 matches. Since then we've had 6 managers (7 if you include McClaren turning up twice). We have spent over £25 million, sold our two best academy graduates in recent memory and been in the play-offs twice (both times guided there by managers who have had little to spend). And here we are now, four years later with a near identical record - 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. 15th in the table. The only difference is that this time the rebuild is to come, and has not happened yet. A lot of money has been spent in the last four years and we are still in the same league, with very few of the same players having spent an awful lot off money. Anyone got any predictions about where we'll be in another four years time?
Gritty
In the Prem. Having been established there for 2 years. I'm an optimist. We'll make big changes to the squad next summer when lots of players contracts are up. And even more the following year when even more contracts are up. We may or may not change managers during that time. But either way we'll reduce squad size sufficiently that we'll have room in FFP to make the changes we need. The above may not happen. But why assume it won't. Why not just assume it does. Or assume it happens even quicker if you like. Life will seem better that way.
Carnero
Max Bird has just been sold to premier league new boys Southend whilst new boss John Eustace's Derby sit 15th in the championship with an almost identical record. Sane fans call for patience whilst the more frothy mouthed fans call for owner @RamsPolls to wield the axe yet again.
The_Sheriff
We will be where stoke are. An established premiership team. That's my guess. In the last four years we've had play off finishes and with an owner who cares I can't see no reason why it isn't possible to get the promise land in that time frame! Sith Happens
4 years time. Mel Morris having got fed up with public criticism bows to fan pressure and sells up to the first people to come along with a fiver offer. The new 5 amigos sells all our best players with our top signing a 25k striker from kilburn athletic. Hopes are high, but our new manager, who previous roles include 5 months packing shelves in wilkos stands down with us 24th in league two with just 5 points from 16 games. In panic mode the new board send out for Mac 3, but sadly due to a smudged fax we employ Steve MacDonald from coronation street, and we go the rest of the season without picking up a further point. Relegation to the new toys r us Vauxhall vanarama football conference ensues as our great rivals Burton celebrate promotion to the premier league under unfancied manager Nigel Clough. Owing to dwindling attendance's an agreement is reached for Derby and Burton to swop stadium's. Richard Keogh celebrates retaining the balon d'or with a quiet night out with team mate Lionel messi while expressing sadness at his former teams demise. Now almost totally bald and starting to look like jimmy sirrell. billy davies will be claiming that the girl guides are behind his on-going failure to land a top job - or any job for that matter. all the norwegians will have left along with former boss Lars Bohinen. Brigadier Gary Rowett will on active service in North Korea, George will be due back soon from his latest major op. Ramslad1992
Honestly believe in 4 years time we will be where we are now... the only club I know with worse luck/bad management/ ownership was harchester united in dream team! I'm 25 years old and been a derby fan before I could walk I'm used to the dissapointment! we almost seem doomed to championship mediocrity at the minute.
