Everything these pundits say is taken as gospel, and you know if they challenged their opinion.... they’ll quite happily trot out the “I played professionally” line..... Exactly. I’d be willing to bet my own money that they do not know the laws of the game. And it’s their job to know them.

Yes, but for balance, BT sport does employ former refs to give their opinions too, and quite often they disagree with the in game ref, so it isn't just the pundits. JoetheRam
Guardiola going absolutely nuts then. Not even sure it was a foul let alone a red card.

Shearer thinks it wasn't red as he didn't even get booked for kicking Lennon in the head.
Mr Tibbs
Yup, mind-blowing decision. It's got Pep's back up though, which is highly amusing.

Day
Pep’s sent his players out to injure Wigan and disrupt their free flowing game. Disgusting tactics.

It could easily have been interpreted as two-footed from certain angles and I suppose the ref's angle could have been one. And winning the ball is neither here nor there if the challenge is careless, reckless or using excessive force. I can also see why the referee might have seen it as serious foul play. Day
Pep also went for the Wigan manager at half time, the guy has no class.
JoetheRam
No worries. The ref will give City a dubious penalty if they are still not winning after 80 minutes.

A yellow may have been fair, like the ref was going to give originally anyway.

How do you know that? Because he got the yellow out? Refs write on the yellow card, don't they?
Day
If Wigan played further up the pitch, wasn’t as static, had more of the ball, showed some creativity and carved out some clear cut chances they would be ahead.
