There are different ways to play full back, and whilst Warnock wasn't able to overlap (or underlap) the winger he provided support from a deeper position... Warnock got 2 assists this season in 19 games... Olsson got 1 and a goal in 18 games... Fozzy got 1 assist in 10 games... That suggests a player who supports the attack pretty okay to me... It feels a bit like you're agreeing with me whilst trying to disagree with me I rate Warnock but he wasn't suited to us because he wasn't mobile enough and therefore wasn't an upgrade. As 2 or the 3 are returning from long term injuries I would imagine if we do want to sell or loan one it will be a decision made towards the end of the transfer window. If other teams are able to exploit his weaknesses so efficiently then we may have have a problem. As with many of the faults in our team they are only exposed against certain opposition, so the same goes for a number of the players. Overall I don't think Forsyth has as much to exploit as Olsson does. Olsson's goal against Forest has bought him a bit of a reprieve amongst a lot of supporters. His main problem is that when the whole team plays so utterly direly dreadful... He also looks rubbish... Oddly though... When we played really well against Hull in the home game during the main season and the away leg in the playoffs he played really well... As did the rest of the side... A tall full, mobile full back is useful at this level as is having two decent left full backs. If anything we could do with another right back and a decent striker. Anag Ram Posted July 28, 2016 Share Posted July 28, 2016 I think we definitely missed Craig last year. The importance of good full-backs is often underestimated. Where Craig scores over Olssen (and even Christie) is his aerial strength. When a ball is crossed to the far post, it's usually your full-back who needs to be strong.
