If I were a Burton fan, I'd be more than a little worried. Hopefully Hasselbaink has the sense to stay clear for now.

I couldn't see Jimmy Flloyd going to Leeds, it's hardly a forward step in his career.

He (like many before him) went to Burton to get his experience and demonstrate his football philosophy under a supportive ownership. Although he has ties with Leeds I'd expect him to see that a move there would undo all is good work over the last 18 months.

Leeds are a bloody joke. The problem isn't with the coaching staff but with the idiots who keep employing them. They clearly have no idea what they are trying to achieve. It's only a matter of time until they plummet to the bottom of the football league.

It gets better

At its recent meeting, the Board of The Football League (with the exception of Chief Executive Shaun Harvey who declared an interest*) considered the position of Leeds United President Massimo Cellino under its Owners' and Directors' test.

In June, Mr Cellino was found guilty by a Court in Sardinia of an offence under Italian tax legislation relating to the non-payment of VAT on the importation of a Land Rover vehicle.  This resulted in a fine of €40,000 and the confiscation of the vehicle in question.

Having considered detailed legal advice and the Court’s reasoned judgment, as supplied by Mr Cellino, the Board determined that the decision of the Italian Court constitutes a disqualifying condition under the Owners' and Directors' test.

Mr Cellino has until October 28 to appeal against the Board's decision.  Any such appeal would be heard by an independent panel.

The League will make no further comment at this time.

I really don't understand the fit and proper person test - if someone is dodgy, they're dodgy - just because an amount of time has passed since they were last caught doesn't mean they've stopped being dodgy - and the fact that Cellino has been found guilty again tends to suggest that he's not mended his ways since the last judgement - surely he should be permanently blocked from owning the club - however funny it is seeing them look daft again......
