We only have Bent and Martin as natural CFs I would get worried if Martin gets injured early on, i would like to see us bring in a striker on loan or permanently, hopefully the club can make this happen. I don't feel confident relying on Bent, saying that if Martin does pick up an injury i wouldn't mind seeing Weimann playing in a more central role, most villa fans believe that's where he is most prolific! Ince can play on the wing or as we've seen in pre-season, in the hole. Calero won't feature, he hasn't in pre-season. Dawkins, Russell, Weimann all central players who can play on the wing. Not sure about another cf though. If we were to sign a top striker, how would that sit with Bent?, surely we didn't sign him to be a bench warmer. Interesting though, if we do actually sign anyone. PS Burns is just trying to wind us up, I take no notice of his childish immature remarks now, getting boring infact. Anyhow if Martin gets injured the loan market could be explored but we all know what happened last season .We were unable to get a loan in of the Martin type. But as someone has said we have Bent which is good even though he needs the ball in behind and it's a different ball game which could work well with Ince ,Wiemann or Russell or Dawkins The problem last season was he got injured as well and we used Russell who didn't hack it in that role and Sammon towards the end and Thomas wasn't used.
