But truth is i dont think weve been playing that well all season. We are definitely worse than last year under Mac, mainly because we have lost Wisidom, Bamford and Thorne and the loanees brought in are not nearly as good. Also Bryson has lost his mojo. Dunno why Hughes was left on the bench but our main problem is lack of cutting edge. Only Martin is a regular goal threat. That's pretty much my feeling summed up. I had thought we were looking more professional, if with less flair this season. It's a big wake up call for the team. This is going to be a long hard season, with lots of ups and downs. It's all well and good having passers in there, but you have to do the dirty work as well. Eustace, Bryson and Hughes for me - it's well balanced and everyone knows their role. What other Championship sides play a style of football which involves passing and running with the ball? 90% just play direct football and look to win the second balls. Our problem is being overrun becasue we can't keep hold of the ball. Today Hendrick completed on 68% of his passes. That's shocking. Dawkins on the other hand completed 97%. We have no midfield runners ourselves. They get the ball and it's all lousy sideways passing. Mascarell was the one driving the team forward with forward passing at Fulham, though I don't know if he did that today? Bryson contributes nothing if he's not scoring. Absolute waste of a midfield spot. We lack a player who can pick the ball up in central midfield and carry it. Dawkins is the only one who can do that. I agree we haven't been as good as last year, a lot of the fluency has gone, but we're still fourth and can improve considerably. That's no bad position to be in.
