Keogh tbh is a good player, but not irreplaceable on the other hand.As some have said would he even start for Burnley?I do not think so.Just be cause no new contract has been signed does not mean that he wants to leave. How much realistically could we get for him?Not enough imo to sell our captain.

P.S. I do not really see him being sold, but if he does who does everyone think would be new captain? I would have to think it would be Grant or Bucko.

He'd start for Burnley, no doubt. The question is would Keogh and Shackell be good enough for Premier League football.

Shackell is.

I'm not sure he is that brilliant a defender. He's not physically strong, hasn't got a great aerial presence and his passing isn't as good as Bucko's.

Keogh, on his day, is a good defender at this level. He showed that in his first season. If he can recapture that form then he'll be more than good enough for the first team but last season he was average (at best) for quite a few games. He's made a better start to this season, bar a poor game against Charlon, so hopefully we should see him back to his best if he doesn't leave.

Um... Say again..?

I used to watch stoke regularly when Derby away as I played in their youth and got free tickets :-)

Fair enough, did he play centre back much, if so was he decent?

Secondly, is your neck recovered yet from watching the Stokies?

As long as he is replaced, I think 1.5million is a decent figure. However, I'm just hoping he doesn't get a mega contract here.

Some people will be elated, others happy, some not so and one very angry (mentioning no names) but he goes with my blessing. It's a chance for him to prove himself in the Premier League.

Fair point

Think it's a bad idea to sell - we'll just be throwing away a centre half partnership that has grown over the past two years and lose a leader.

Ryan Shotton is a very risky replacement as would anyone new coming in at this stage - why sell now?

If Keogh wants Premier League football / a big contract at the end of this season then that's why.

I guess it depends on how much you rate him, but I think for 1.5million we could do better.
