The highly-rated 17-year-old forward, who has already played 20 first-team games for the Rams, is set to link up with Paul Cook's side. Sky Sports understands the Spireites have beaten a host of club's to Bennett' signature. Cook had bemoaned his side's 'lack of a cutting edge' after their midweek draw with Wimbledon and he will be hoping Bennett is the answer. Bennett will join Chesterfield on Thursday and will be eligible to make his debut against Oxford United on Saturday.
Mr. P
He needs playing time. A few minutes here and there won't help his development. Good move if he plays regularly.
CornwallRam
It's a good move for Mason. I reckon he'll tear up League 2. I wonder if it might leave us short on striking options? I suppose with a full squad we're fine, but a couple of injuries and things might get interesting.
REDCAR
Maybe a recall built in to the deal?

Srg
Knew about this a month or so ago. Been in place for when we got knocked out of Youth Cup. Obviously got delayed by the head injury after we lost the game though.

Alph
Not joining a struggling team either so he should have fun.
Cisse
He should get goals there.
May Contain Nuts
Good move because, to be honest, I don't think he's anywhere near ready to step up to the Championship YET.
uttoxram75
Mason tweeted summat about not wanting anyone to speak to him and being so angry yesterday evening, it was removed soon after. Owt to do with his loan or just the tantrums of a normal teenager?
Ewetube
It seems, on the face of it, to be a good move all round. Hopefully Mason sees it that way and goes to Chezzy with a positive frame of mind and does the business for them.
t'oldu
Bbit like when Roy Mac sent Studge to Torquay to get some playing time / goals in .Hope Mason enjoys himself .
blackNwhites
His hometown wasn't that far away from Chesterfield was it? Great move for him I reckon.
chambta
His hometown wasn't that far away from Chesterfield was it? Great move for him I reckon. He's officially a north Derbyshire lad but Langwith, his village, is effectively bandit country.
trekkie_ram
It seems odd that the article doesn't mention 'loan' once. (I am aware that only the emergency window is open right now, but still!).
Gary Teale
I think he needs a run of games to aid his development and we have quite a lot of cover in the attacking positions.
eddie
It seems odd that the article doesn't mention 'loan' once. (I am aware that only the emergency window is open right now, but still!). It's a one month loan initially.
Cisse
You get better at scoring goals by scoring goals. Bennett should benefit from this.
